I finally found a very nice 2008 FJR with 63xxx kms on it that im ready to buy. Is there anything specific i should "look out" for? Bike has the full service history from new and was well taken care of.

By 2008 there were no significant problems left to fix. LOL

{you might spend an hour or two reading about the "spider" ground wire problems that some Gen. 2 bikes experience. It is not a big deal if you do your own work but might be a little expensive if you have the problem and take it to a con artist or a dealership to be fixed. There seems to be no permanent damage to the electrical system or to the bike once it is fixed}. The most important thing is to be familiar with the symptoms so you are not freaked out if it happens. I experienced the problem while down in Florida and rode the bike back to South Carolina before I fixed it, but I would have just fixed it down there if I had really known what was happening. My bad, I had read plenty of posts about the "spider" but did not bother to "really" read them. LOL

I just got back to FJR myself by purchasing an extremely low mileage (21K mi) '08 about three weeks ago.  Beyond brake pads and tires there is not too much else to be concerned about.  You might inquire if the valve clearance was checked as this is supposed to have been done at 25K miles (so I assume 40 KM) - but many FJR owners wait longer as they are seldom out-of-tolerance.

Good luck with your purchase!  I have had very good luck with the previous two GEN II FJR's I have owned.
