I remember many years back, during the "Jaws" mania, there was a news report of an Abalone diver in Santa Barbara that got hit by a Great White right as he was entering the water from his boat. The impact knocked him right back into the boat, in need of a couple hundred stitches. Seeing the footage of them hitting seals in the South African waters, I can see how that could happen. Those sumbitches hit hard!
