This will be in NEPRT soon enough since Ignacio is feeling better. 75W-90 GL5 Hypoid gear oil is your ticket.

If you want to avoid spelling and tech Nazis (same family) from derision and hysterical laughter and pointing, you should not refer to your final drive on a motorcycle as a "differential". JSNS

You will be okay with any gear oil in this range: 70W-90, 75W-90, 80W-90.

(Stay away from using 85W-140 for the final drive.)

Either a GL-4 or GL-5 should be fine in the final drive. (GL-5 isn't better it just has a different additive package)

Synthetics are great for their lower pour point and longevity.

However you wouldn't be riding in temps where the pour point is much of a factor and if you change out the fluid regularly then longevity isn't an issue.

Thanks Pista you gave me the answer I was looking for I ended up going with the Bellray 70 to 90 and making it to Lewisburg was no problem see you guys there

No no no. It might not be obvious, but seal oil is strictly for seals. Correct on the whale oil though. Sperm whale oil for open diffs of course.

This from NC state? Hm, musta done some time up at Elmendorf er sumpin.

Some on here I can expect to not know, but there are some here whom I'm surprised to hear ,,suggest using 'oil' in the final drive. Any 'oil' would be just like having no lubricant at all in the final drive,, probably grenade at 100 miles or so. Yama's lube is so special and secret,, it can Only be referred to as "whale ****!" I do not like correcting smart guys,,, but,, come on man....
