Hello,

I recently changed my 2007 stock suspension from the stock settings to match HaulinAsh's setup...it is great and I really love it in the twisties now. I do have the rear suspension at 6 clicks out using soft setting position.

I do a lot of commuting and would like my soft setting very soft and would like to switch to my hard setting for weekend fun...I like the 6 clicks out for weekend fun, but would like it softer for weekdays.

Is there a an equivilancy factor with the switch and and how many clicks it is related to... i.e. Hard is "6" clicks firmer....

What I would like is set the hard setting to be equal to what it is now with 6 clicks out (soft) and then when I switch the lever to soft, so it would be even softer for daily highway commuting with just the flick of a switch to change between weekday and weekend...

Does this make sense? Please let me know if anyone has any idea if the hard/soft has an equivilent # of clicks related to it...

Thanks

Robert

If I read you correctly?, I think you're asking for the corresponding damping adjustment for 'soft' and 'hard' (spring) settings of the rear shock?

I think you can find that info in the FJR Owner's Manual under "suspension adjustment"? I haven't looked recently, but I think there are guidelines (starting points) listed?

You're welcome.

General guidelines state that the hard setting is suggested for heavy loads or two-up riding; personally my uneducated butt doesn't really feel that much of a differance either way.

The Hard/Soft only changes the preload on the spring, doesn't affect/change damping in any way that I'm aware of.

Thats just about how I understand it as well.

If you have your sag set correctly and your favorite settings for twisty riding are dialed in, I'm not sure how much adjustment will be there for a much plusher ride. Sounds like maybe your ready for a custom suspension!

Ya.... get a good aftermarket suspension - fork springs and rear shock with external adjustment, then you can truly appreciate a better ride...

I put a wilburs set on my 05 when they first came out, now there are many more brands available....

I'm sure plenty of people can chime in, but lets save some time and click the linky below... :)

I absolutely loved that link :drinks:

Thanks everyone for the information....it looks like to save myself a couple bucks, i will just kneel down and adjust the clicker on weekends....at least until I decide to jump into custom suspension for easy adjusting....thanks again...

I truly love that setup..... And its so helpful, and hopefully it will teach people that don't know how easy it is to search...

There are some times when a guy needs the input from his fellow friends though, and thats what this great board is all about...
