So here is rebuild number 2.
You can't really see the scratches on the fairing. Looks hot, huh?
Looks a little better from this side.
Issues:
#1
Winsheild will not line up. It is a new W bracket, so the windsheild must have warped a little from being stored in the guys garage I bought it from.
About 3 holes are off, and only by a few mm.
I'm thinking about just drilling the wholes slighly larger. The top part of the W bracket will hold the screw in place, and help keep the windsheild torqued to the bottom W braket.
#2
Thought I'd be able to re-use this dash panel, but upon further inspection, it somehow warped. Didn't even notice until I tried to install it.
Going to have to order a new one.
#3
Batter stay seems to have bent up a few mm and won't line up with front stay 1.
Used a good ol zip tie for that one! I've ridden roughly 650 miles without a front stay and no problems. I'm thinking this will be fine, I can't seem to bend the battery stay, that SOB is strong. Now I'm just hoping the dash panels will have enough room to fit.
#4
DO NOT, I repeat, DO NOT EVER buy OEM mirrors.
I tried to save a few bucks buying these from ebay. $35 shipped for both. They do not swivel far enough to see much besides yourself.....
I know the stock mirrors aren't great, but I cannot even see the lane next to me. These are worthless, unless your narrcissistic and want to watch yourself riding.
Another Dash panel also broke during shipping, so I have to send that back........
Oh, and just for an added bonus, here's what the garage looks like during this process.
