I'll be getting a call any day now to pickup my recently purchased new '07 that I left to have these two recalls completed prior to deliver. Because I don't have an image in my mind about a "before" picture to see if the work was actually performed is there something obvious I can look for to verify.

You won't be able to see anything with the ignition switch.
Not 100% correct. You can mathematically determine whether or not the ignition switch has been replaced.

The formula is:

The number of scratches on your tank divided by the number of triple tree clamp screws left loose or missing plus the main ignition harness and/or throttle cables being misrouted.

Simple.

Thanks. I will look for the reinforcement, but since my box was ordered only recently, thought those produced after the recall, might have been modified by a design change not noticablable unless you knew what you were looking for.

I'll check for the rounded out / unsecured fasteners and misrouted cables for the switch replacement.

Yeah if they really Howie it up you will know. OR is that just Skootered?

I can't keep the lingo straight.

Actually, if you lift the gas tank, you should be able to see a yellow band on a "new" ignition switch. Supposedly around the wires near the plug. I haven't checked mine since the new ignition switch was put in to confirm this though.

Edited to add:

Here is a post that has a picture or two of the new iggy switch recall replacement, and shows the yellow wrap around the wire bundle:

Fossil...there is one more clue to look 4 re: ign. switch...the technician performing the work is supposed to punch in a mark above the last # on the VIN strip below the steering head. You should be able to feel it, if not see it!

....and don't forget the cutting oil splatter from when they drilled out the old switch.....that will be there too...
