Not a big deal.. but still..

I've noticed 4 times now that if I redline while having a blinker on, e.g. as when merging on to the freeway, that when the rev limiter hits, both blinkers turn on... like the emergency blinkers would do.. not a huge deal... acutally, when I'm at red, maybe other folks need to know..

Still, has anyone else noticed this?

Maybe Yammi decided to install a shift light! LOL

When you say redline, Do you mean 9k or against the bump stop at 10.2k?

Bump stop... I don't know why but I get a degree of satisfaction having the limiter kick in once and awhile.. Not sure if it's a vibration thing or electronically based.. I know that my 06 tingles pretty good when up at higher rpm.. this I like.. feedback of warp speed is good.. :)

I dig the fact that it's a sensation thing, but you'll go a lot faster if you shift just after the torque peak, as opposed to shifting just after the RPM limiter. FWIW.

You know whats funny, A few months ago i was riding my friends R6, And that thing redlines at 16k! You got to choke the ever living **** out of it to get any power... Then went back to the FJR and bumped the limiter a few times! Fun bike! that R6 is.

Man I'm glqd to read this post. I have a Kawa 1600 Vulcan and an FJR. My son was riding the Vulcan with me recently and when we pulled to a stop sign he told me the flashers were on. I know for a fact I hadn't hit the flashers but I'm pretty sure I hit the rev limiter. I also ride a Yama YZ 250 F and the redline on that is about 13.5K, so I might have been reaching for more than I should have...

Can't say I've noticed, but somehow I usually hit the rev limiter in 3rd, and at that speed I haven't really noticed the blinkers. Will try and have a look sometime.

I highly recommend keeping ones eyes on the road when operating at or near rev limiter ranges in any gear.

You guys bumping off the stop realize that you're well past the power curve before you get to there. Right? If you're doing it for power, then shift sooner.

Good point Bounce, and I know it's true too. If I'm trying to go fast, I shift correctly. Sometimes though, I just like to bump it. :yahoo: Kinda like a functionality test should I ever really need some day.. you know, like when the cheesy kickstand fails, the wimpy tip over switch fails, the bike falls to the right, the modified light pull throttle pins WFO... :dribble:  oh, WFO = Wide Freakin' Open, not a meeting of granny's on blue, silver, and now pink bikes..

Guy goes into the doctor's office and says, "Doc, every time I do this, it hurts."

Doc says, "Well then, don't do that."
