Great Roger! It sounds like your work is going along much quicker than mine did. My engine head spent over 3 weeks sitting at the machine shop before they got around to it. If you are suffering from motorcycling withdrawals call me and we can go for a day ride. You can ride my Triumph. :)
If I can pry it from your daughter's fingers huh?

Shop called yesterday. New shims didn't arrive with the "re-build kit" (they have a kit now?), so they had to order them separately. They expect them in Wednesday-ish. Good thing I planned to be without a bike for 4-5 weeks

Its not a kit exactly but Yamaha, because of the tickers, are not leaving ordering parts to the dealer rather sending a "package" for the parts needed to do the exhaust valves etc.

Rog,

What color red is that? Did you paint it yourself or have it done? It's gorgeous :)

Yep, did it hiz-self----in the garage----with a brush. Hee-hee-hee! But you are right, sir, it is gorgeous, particularly in the sunlight. I love to ride sweep behind the Rogdebs and watch that red FJR carve the corners in the Sierras.

Check here for piccies.

Thanks kindofblue :)

My dealer handled the details. They've worked with this particular paint guy for a good while (I never met him), say he's been painting bikes for over 20 years, now painting them out of his garage. I said I wanted it Yamaha Shift Red (same as 2004 YZF R1) -- he did an excellent job of matching, in my opinion anyway - but I am bias :D

Ignore Mike -- he's probably overdosed on his Centrum Silver again!

We do like riding with him though -- we do.

Picked her up yesterday - running nice & quiet. haven't done an extended run yet, that will be later - after all the shennanigins are over this month, but I expect nothing but good :)
Yeah, I actually have more serenity knowing I have a repaired & improved model than one that still has the questionable components in it. The quality of the repair work is in doubt, but not the effectiveness. Congrats on the new improved Sylvie! :clapping: Can't wait to see her again.
Check your PM box, Roger.

Even more serenity as I had them replace the TPS (a preventative measure) while she was apart.

PM box checked and answered -- thanks Bob
