Run search and came out empty. Wondering if those unsightly rear deflectors on the bags are easily removed. Glued or screwed on?

The are glued on. They remove *relatively* easily when new. Might be more problamatic if they've been on a couple years.

All you should need to do is just apply a heat gun for a short amount of time and start peeling gently on one end (the thinner "leading" end). Don't be putting a massive amount of heat on any one area and potentially dork up your paint/plastic! Once one end is lifted up, apply more heat until the next section lifts off, and continue until it's totally removed.

It is glued on. Heat with a hair dryer and, when you can, slip dental floss underneath the glued pad and work the reflector out with both the dryer and the dental floss. No damage done on mine.

Happy New Year.

I took mine off on a hot summer day. Large pair of channel-lock pliers. Grabbed those suckers and "gently" (really!) worked them back and forth until the edges began to lift then slowly peeled them off. In the Winter, I'd use a hair dryer to warm the area first.

Just read my mind !!! Much obliged Gents !!

Rogdeb painted his '03 R-1 red. Since he had the reflectors off, he cut some "red prism reflector" to fit over the YAMAHA in the middle of the sidecase. It looks pretty cool, and works when light strikes it.
