I have a v65 Magna with an oil mod to improve oil flow to the head. The mod consists of an aluminum plate that bolts to the oil filter boss. There are two braided lines that run from this plate to the head, and the filter then is screwed onto the plate. The mod has been on the bike for years (6-7) but recently has started leaking. I haven't been able to trace the source of the leak yet, but it may be coming from where the plate mates to the engine. Problem is, I loctited the bolt holding this plate with the red stuff.

So the question is, how hard is this thing going to be to remove? Should I use a regular wrench or will an impact work better. To make it more fun, the end of this bolt has the threads for the filter, and so the bolt head is not as thick (tall) as a normal bolt, so it should be easier to round off :D .

Moderators, wasn't sure where this belonged, other bike discusssions didn't seem technical, technical discussions are for FJRs. Me confused.

Heat, and an IMPACT wrench and a six-point socket. Set the impact light, and just let it keep hammerin till it comes loose. I have more or less the same setup on a CB650, so I know the bolt of which you speak. My guess is that the oring seal finally got old and dried out, hence the leak.
