Tyler, looking at these pictures, the difference b/t the events and people at the Faire, and those at Burning Man, really just come down to a matter of perspective.

But you make a fine wench.

Nice pictures. This summer I took the family to the Sterling Renaissance Festival in Sterling NY. It's huge - something like 100 actors playing different roles and set in a wooded hillside built to look like a medieval town. They have swords fights, jugglers, jousting etc.

It's pretty cool and nerdy all at the same time.

Gramercy!

Yeah, there are those that live for this event every year... totally getting into the role and such... I love to go for the people watching... it's fascinating!

MUD SHOW!

Edit: Do they have 'Theater in the Ground' out there too?

As always the pictures are awesome, both mechanically, composition and story telling.

We know someone that participates in this kind of event the way we go out on bike tours on the weekends. We usually stop by and watch the festivities when they are at Winnekenni Castle in Haverhill MA. The mini castle is on a hilltop with awesome views and a nice park behind the grounds.

Set up for a wedding this day:
