Thanks, John
With the precipitation today, I think all these roads are out for the season. I took a Concours over M2 and M4 to Covelo and back several years ago, and a V Strom up from Hyampom in early spring with snow on parts of the road and lots of mud. If things are dry, I think they are a go. But you are so right; it would be much easier with something lighter that handles dirt better. You were wise to get those roads in before the storms arrived.
I really look forward to getting to see several of these places, so I am so glad you posted such wonderful pictures with your curious eye for exploration. Now, we get to wait on the high stuff until May or so.
In the last week and a half I got to ride Mad River to 299, Somes Bar to Callahan, Burnt Ranch to Hyampom to Hayfork, twice on Carson -Monitor-Ebbetts and Sonora Passes; Beasore Rd. and Kaiser Pass (Huntington Lake). I should be content, but it only whets the appetite for more. And your ride really whets the appetite!! Thanks!!
