They have to kiss when they can 'cause Jerry's never home. Typical telephone conversation: "Jerry, where's that bread you went out to get?"

"They didn't have what I was looking for at the local Safeway, so I thought I'd try Las Vegas." :D

Have fun, RJ (and you too, Jerry). You're going right by my house. Not sure how this Cal 24 thingy works, but I guess there's no time to stop in for tea.

Looks like RJ's route is in old familiar stompin' grounds. If I read the thing correctly, 12 hours into it now..

Go Juan-Boy, GO!

RJ passed within a 1/4 mile of my house yesterday. I knew something smelled funny.

Looks like he found out the hard way that the Hazel Ave bridge (over the American) was closed over the weekend...

I was pissed off royal ..it was par for the situations I had put myself into on this rally. I had already dicked around too much ...and was going to hit latrobe tehn 16 to 49 Jackson etc ...I was short on time ..by the time I dicked around and got down to sunrsise and such .....the time was too tight.

When I rolled up and that bridge was closed ....it was yet another crazy thing to add to a frustrating but fun rally.

Hey RJ, seems you crossed paths with another riding friend of mine, Alex. He said you paid for one of his fees at one of those drive thru trees... sound familiar? He also had a pic of you with two lovely lasses for your "beach" pic... ;)

Ya, Alex ran a great rally and is a good rider and nice guy. Glad to buy his way into the tree gig ......as far as the "lasses". They were drunken White Trash, that trumps lasses any day.

Oh man... you were so close to hitting that right.

I know it's a day late and a dollar short, but if there is ever a "next time" keep going east on Douglas to Auburn-Folsom Road, then south. It's a bit faster - less stop lights + higher speed road. ;)

Ya, but I was coming from Chico, not the east -elected to do 65 to Roseville and knew cutting through sacto wouldn't be fun ...but the bridge. It was what I deserved for trying to out-smart the base route and scrap for points with on-the-fly routing. How long is that bridge going to be closed?

It re-opened this morning at 6a. Dunno how many more times they will need to close it to finish the project, but I'd guess it will happen again.

You were going the right way, just one road off of expedient bliss. The distance from Hazel/Sierra College to Auburn-Folsom is about 2 miles... but in the right direction if you are trying to head up to Latrobe.

Man... this whole thread makes me want to rally up. I spent my weekend installing a closet and putting patio furniture together.
