Great fun following the IBR09 so I just couldn't sit home for the finish. Instead took a little road trip up to Spokane.

Manged to sneak in a bit of moto-bike fun on the way there and back -as well as a great time in Spokane.

Yep, took a few pics ...and I'm attempting to do some simple videos ....that has been some good fun, but I'm no filmmaker that's for sure.

Ran up to do some exploring around a very special corner of Planet Earth: Fort Bidwell

...and took the FJR on some roads it was not exactly designed for .....UHHH, and with full luggage, aux fuel and a big jug of tequila that I was smuggling out of Nevada. ---Took some home-brew video of a couple of the many water crossings:

I have been through that stretch between Burns and John Day twice this summer, and both times two or three of those KTM's have been parked in that same spot.

What a great report! Kudos for the water crossings. :thumbsup: The ending to the last one made me laugh out loud.

Great RR... RJ.......... you always tell a great story, good pics and people all around you.

I hope to do half of what you ride someday!!

Kewl **** man...

Great report RJ. It's been 30 years since I've been thru that part of Eastern OR and WA. Looks like I'll have to go again soon. Thanks :clapping:

BTW, what kind of GPS with the elevation history?

John - Awesome report!!!

I haven't been on Hwy44 in years, gotta do that again.

I really enjoyed your water crossings.

Water crossing #1 Lesson: Turn on ignition. Did really need the gloves for that 30 feet?

Water crossing #2 Lesson: Make sure camera is on stable foundation, note wind speed.

Water crossing #3 Lesson: Don't look at camera, aim to one side of the camera. Just like dirt biking, don't look at ithe big rock in your path, or you'll hit it. :D

So now the sport touring FeeJ is a versatile submarine.

Cool stuff.

#1.)Only to appease the safety nazi's

#2.)Yes, I have a lot to learn on the video thing ....including putting the camera where it won't fall over. Too bad that perhaps was was the most spectacular crossing -deep water and I hit it pretty hard.

#3.)That was an awkward crossing for many reasons -mostly the boulders. Even being cautious (*****) ...still I had my hands full with the high tire pressure, heavy bike and the bounces from rock to rock ... -but once I knew I had it I got lazy and took my feet off the pegs -then I was laughing ...You'll note I was riding the bike like a sack of potatoes at the end.

-I didn't mean to hit the camera -but no surprise -as I had put myself out of sorts with the poor form and laughing. Should have been looking ahead and riding ahead, I was just happy to be across.

No doubt my worst crossing of the 12that I did that day ........and of course it's one of two on video LOL

John - I could tell you had your hands full by watching your bars and font end. You did a good job on that tank, it's not easy dirt biking a FeeJ let alone thru water on a 600+lb water buffalo. Looked like fun though, maybe a little pucker factor too.
It was funny watching you run thru the water back to your bike each time after setting up the camera, splashing around like a kid, then riding thru. Good stuff, I don't think many have recorded themselves doing that. You shuld get the Water Buffalo Award (WBA)! :yahoo:

John---- Great report and fun.... Miight I suggest that in the future for any water crossings, you have Old Michael hold the camera on the other side. It might be great fun to run him over!

Good idea......... OH wait..... you can duct tape the camera to OM's Yellow Dome..... ... tape it facing backwards... Then run him

over......... :p :p :rolleyes: :blink: :blink:

YOU WERE IN MY TOWN AND DIDN'T LOOK ME UP?

OK, so you'll appreciate that we've had a project in progress for some time and we're bringing back a couple of classics:
--->"No Duh!"

--->"******' -A" (or "******; -A Dude")

inserting these into practically every conversation over the last months has had a big impact on society and when it finally reaches your town, please think to yourself "Yep, RenoJohn brought that back"

You crack me up John! :lol: That camera tip over after stomping through the water... halarious.
Brad, I wish you could have been there ....it truly was juvenile silly fun.

LOL, -YEP, that may still happen. By the way you'll notice I stopped at the world's tallest flag pole ..for no other reason than to make the world's biggest Pole Gazer jealous.
