Well I saw a couple helpful mirror replies...and MANY torqued-off replies.

Anything else that can help Roger keep his mirrors on? Loctite- Yes? Torque - No?

Mirrors? Don't need no stinkin mirrors! :unsure:

Alls ya half ta do is drive faster than everyone else. "problem solved" :ph34r:

Now that it's no longer Friday, I guess it's OK to be helpful.

I wouldn't worry about under-torqued mirror nuts, Rog. I've never felt a need to Loctite them, though it probably wouldn't hurt anything to do so if it makes you feel better. Some folks will Loctite just about anything.

Torque spec is Good'n'Tite.

The mirrors studs are pretty long, so you'd notice the mirrors were loose / shaking long before they fell off the bike.

Mine have never loosened.

BUT, if you add blue locktight will that not cause a need to adjust the torque value for the liquid on the thread surface. Just ignore, I have not been playing here enough lately. ;-}}

I wonder why that ReeVu hasn't taken off?
This guys seems to like it...

I think that's a hell of an idea, and I'd really love to try one on, but they're just not out there yet. But I bet they'll catch on big-time if they ever get distribution here--and of course get through all the approval hoops. I see they've just now introduced them into Australia and New Zealand.

You could probably have one shipped in, but I'd never try to buy a helmet I hadn't tried on--to me comfort is more important in a helmet than anywhere else on the bike. But when I used to ride a bicycle to work I used a little clip-on mirror that gave me a rear view, and I LOVED it. A slight turn of the head gives a full sweep view of everything behind. At least one outfit makes stick-on helmet mirrors, but I'd knock that thing off five times a day, so it won't do. I bet if I'd been wearing a Reevu helmet down in Death Valley last month I'd have seen that cop coming up behind and moved over to let him by. Would have saved me a damn ticket. :angry:

edit: Sorry, just realized how derailed this thread is getting. Back to the torque value of fjr mirrors now. :)

RogDeb,
Problem solved: Reevu helmet. BUT, you have to go see the relatives that infested your home a couple years ago to pick it up...

Patrick,

Pretty neat product ... and I could probably sneak in without seeing the, err, .... "relatives" :lol: Talk about being torqued off :eek:

:lol: Excellent point Mikey -- never gave that one a thought did I ? But .... who better to look at ? :) .. brownie points : :D
