So "if" the tach on the FJR is off by 9% as well, then does that mean my bike is really only turning 3600-ish RPM at 70mph, rather than the indicated 4k? and if my speedo is also off, and indicated 70 is actually about 66-67, then not only am I not going as fast I i think I am, but the motor is also turning slower as well. Augh, my brain hurts.
You should work throught the math and write it all up. Makes the nice officer laugh every time!

I'm not saying that the FJR tach is off by 9%, I was just saying that we shouldn't take tach readings as gospel...especially from Yamaha when they really screwed the pooch this bad on the R6. I find it odd that some people are saying that their bikes redline at over 10K and dyno sheets show power chopped at 9300. It's hard to beleive that there would be that much variation in the electronic circuitry in the ECM. But, anything is possible

I guess I should have clarified that last post as intended to be tongue in cheek. I have verified my speedo by GPS, at an indicated 70, GPS read 68-69. I have no idea how far off my tach is, if it is, but i know I've pushed it solidly past 9k. I just the potential situation was rather humorous.
