Hey New Englanders,

I have been conversing with Two Wheel Nut's brother, Chris, over the past few weeks. It seems that Chris is a misplaced New Englander with friends (maybe some family still) in the area and will be headed this way for the upcoming Thanksgiving Holiday. He suggested that some of the forum folks that knew Tim via the forum might want to join together with him in a short meet and greet at the Two Guys Smoke Shop in Salem, NH on one of the days after the belly stuffing has been completed.

Two guys has a nice area set aside with sofas and stuffed chairs, where one can sit and enjoy a cheroot or two, while chewing the fat. I feel compelled to warn that there may be (gasp) cigars smoked, so if that is offensive or intolerable, you might not want to attend

I'm thinking that Black Friday (11/28) may be our best opportunity, especially since I personally HATE anything to do with the Xmas shopping fervor and crowds of the day, and the cigar shop is likely to be a bit less crowded on Friday than on Saturday.

I'm sure that Chris will be willing to share some of his experiences what all has transpired out on the left coast these past few weeks in memorium of the 'Nut.

So if anyone is up for it, keep tuned and I'll keep you posted on the exact time as details unroll.

Post up if interested.

PS - ride (or drive) whatever the hell you want. ;)

I've also been PMing with Chris and I'm scheduled to meet with him over Tnx Gvg Wknd at the Smoke Shop too.

TWN is actually from CT and his mother still lives there. TWN was saying that when he retires he would like to move back to New England. Well, it would have been nice...

Yes. Yes it would.

Does Friday work for you Ion?

Hi Fred, John & Alan.......and others:

Yes, I will be coming up from northern CT (Windsor Locks & Suffield) to Two Guys Smoke Shop at 304 S. Broadway (Rt. 28) in Salem, NH either on Friday or Saturday. I would think that Saturday would be better since it's a weekend day and everybody should have it off as opposed to Friday which is still a work day for most folks.

I'll be coming up with an Army buddy whose mom lives in Ellington, CT. Some of my local friends will probably be there to catch up and have a smoke as well.

I am a close friend of Dave Garofalo, the owner of Two Guys. I am a long time customer of his. He and his mom came to my retirement ceremony last January and they met my brother at that event. Tragically, Dave also lost his 50-year old brother a few years ago.

As I said early on, the stogies and coffee are on me.

That's what I'm thinking so far.

Tim's brother.

Chris

What time do i have to be there?????

Oh wait, can I bring Smitty too?

R

Oh and by the way watch out for Chris he is like his brother in a lot of ways, I will let you figure out what they are.

I can do either Friday or Saturday. Whatever works best for everyone else...
UPDATE: Fellow New Englanders/Northeasterners who may come to Salem, NH:

The owner of Two Guys Smoke Shop offered to let us have free use of the upstairs cigar club lounge (members only). He can also provide snacks and soft drinks gratis. State law however, prohibits possession/consumption of alcohol on the premises but who needs that as long as you have a good stogie?

I'll probably post a general note to the entire forum about this. If anyone thinks I shouldn't, let me know.

Fairlaner - saw your post. Are you seriously thinking of going or are you just teasin :clapping: '?

Cheers!

Tim's brother

Chris

Hi Chris! There will be an email coming your way with my contact info.

Let us know what day you will be in Salem. Let me also comment that Friday and the weekend right after Thanksgiving is one of the busiest shopping weekends of the year. Salem is a prime shopping area being TAX FREE and right on the Taxachusetts border. Rt. 28 that the smoke shop is on is a 4 wheel mosh pit during this time. It's not a problem for me because I can snake in through back roads but others may have to drive through Salem and that could suck.

Alan

Hey Chris,

That's awesome! It's like getting the luxury box at Two Guys!! BTW, if any of you guys have never been to Two Guys, it's well worth the trip. By far, the finest cigar shop I have ever been in (and I've been in a few )

No, we don't need alcohol, especially if the weather is OK for a ride-in. More like Hot Coffee!! ;)

BTW, by posting here, everyone in the forum sees the post. No need to do anything more than you already have.

And I doubt Richard will be flying 3000 miles for the meet and greet, but... you never know,

All true, Alan. But snaking through the RT 28 mosh is better than having to go shopping!!

Well I hope its Saturday as that works best for me (selfish bastard that I am), either way a late season M&G will be fun for whoever can get there. I'll be watchin' this space for details.

There hasn't been a huge amount of chatter on this. I can do either day, and I think Ionbeam was the same. Why don't we just say that we will do this on the Saturday following Turkey Day, Nov 29th.

Anyone that wants to join is more than welcome.

Hey all: Saturday sounds good. Probably meet late morning? Will firm up later with posts, emails, phone calls. Want to meet bluejag also so if he misses the posts I will call him.

And don't listen to anything dcarver and fairlaner say about me: they are after all, from the left coast!

More later.

Cheers!

Tim's brother.

Yeah...yeah...yeah!!

I'll tell you what, guys, being with Chris is spooky.....almost like being with TWN himself. He's got that same quiet demeaner and a great sense of honor and sense of humor. He's quite a gentleman in the fullest sense of the word.

Enjoy your meet and greet.
