Here is a great site to plan some rides while at the SFO.

Be sure to check all three of the states on this site for ideas.

Enjoy!

Tom! you are seriously reading my mind and about 90 seconds ahead of me!

I was going to post this website up for everyone's planning purposes:

https://www.cruisetheozarks.com/roads_cen.htm

Its a bit cruiser-oriented, but that's ok. We all know whose gonna have more fun on these roads! B)

Your site is more descriptive of the rides. More choices for SFO riders.

BTW, when we've riden together, I've always been at least 90 seconds ahead of you!

*resists urge to comment on 90min*

Neat..there's an Omaha, AR...I want a picture of that sign...

I'd like to go through the Ozark National Forest. Maybe take 23 south then find some road heading east and catch 7 up to Jasper then county roads back to 23??? Has anyone done that?

Many people say Hwy 23 is one their favorite technical riding roads in Ark.

This picture was taken last Spring on the last ride of SFO on the southern leg of Hwy 23. If you look closely, you'll see Michelle, Reggie, and a few other FJR riders. (Was fun no?)

The northern leg is the better half which begins at Lurton on Hwy 7 and ends around Jasper. It don't get much better!

The Arkansas Rider's Guide is the definitive motorbiking guide to this state (IMHO). The author of this guide says Hwy 23 is his favorite too.

I'll bring and share my copy if "ya'll" don't buy your own.

I was somewhere around that photo, though I can't be seen in it. 23, fun...........yes. My favorite of the roads we traveled last year. Looking forward to it again this year.

That bridge is on the southern end of Hwy 123 not 23.

HA! i do recall keeping right up with you mister! now the rest of the group.....

JJones and I will be staying in Eureka Thursday night, and will ride Friday and Saturday both. Probably 300 - 350 +/- miles both days. We will try to plan a route that brings us together with the rest of the group for lunch on Saturday. Michelle just needs to tell us where she would like that to be at. Friday would be the best day to ride 23, my experiance tells me that 23 on Saturday carries way to much traffic. Lower 123 (picture of bridge) is good any time, just watch for crazy women jumping out of the woods waving their arms frantically for no apparent reason. And then theres the killer attack dog where 123 meets back up with 7 and 16, be careful there. I'm sure there will be a few group rides of different lengths. This longer ride will be a S.O.G. ride (Stay On the Gas). So if your interested the SOG ride will leave fairly earlier both days 7:30 or so.

Since everyone should be arriving Thursday night this year, I highly encourage folks to mingle and find out where people want to go and what kind of riding style they will be using. I personally feel that 6 bikes in a group is plenty, 4 is optimum. IMO.

And y'all can definitely get a jump on that discussion on here.

I'm not going to suggest anything other than that. If a bunch of people want to meet for lunch somewhere, that's great, but I'm guessing everyone will be all over the top half of this state and that might be hard to do. That's why we're posting all the route options here. So please have your own maps and GPS files ready to go!

Scott, if you & Joey want to post up your planned routes and tell folks where you will having lunch along the way, that might work better. I definitely agree with you about 23 on Friday!

I had a blast just going with whoever. The last meet I attended was great; I just followed whichever group didn't leave before 7am :p

If someone has gps maps, can we get those ahead of time? I have the entire state of MO and AR loaded...but I don't have any routes planned. I just bought a used Garmin 2610; that voice is annoying, but I'm learning the features...

I'll have a laptop with a CF card reader with me (have SD, plus miniSD and microSD adapters)... map sharing, wi-fi, weather-checking, road construction updates, etc.

Paul I was about to email you the old GPS routes we've had for a coupla years, but then I checked them out and realized they all start and end in Russellville. And since we've moved to Eureka Springs this year, that means they won't work well.

I have a new Zumo being delivered this week, so I'll redo the routes and get them out as soon as I can. Just depends how long it takes me to learn this puppy! We'll have them well before the trip though!

I just bought a gently-used Garmin 2610 and it arrived Friday. I'm still figuring out what it can/can't do. I'm not going to enable the audio; I don't need that voice competing with those already in my head. I have the maps loaded, just trying to get routes, waypoints, vias and such entered...

I think I like my previous trip-planning better... "I'm going where?" :D

There's no issue with hearing voices in yer head. Only if yer goin to take their advice is when the trouble starts.
