Good stuff, Jim... I think I'll be hitting you up for some ride suggestions this summer... maybe even tow me and a couple of friends around!

Thanks Tyler. Everything I know about roads in Washington is Destination Hwys Washington. Well darn near. I do know when the good roads open around here from their winter slumber. I'd be happy to help.

Normally the North Cascades Hwy opens first sometime between mid April and mid May.

Artist Point along the Mt. Baker Hwy opens in mid August

Windy Ridge and Hwy 25 behind Mt. St. Helens open by mid July unless there was a wash out. Washouts are normal. It is what happens when the road is build on pumice. Here is a link to status reports on roads around Mt. St. Helens. Windy Ridge is a must and folks are encouraged to ride it soon for trees are growing fast destroying the raw naked moonscapes in the blow down zone, along with the excellent site lines in the twisties.

Use the Oregonmotorcyclist to find a nice way up here. I suggest avoiding I-5 and the northern 2/3 of the Oregon Coast.

And you can hit me up for ride ideas anytime.

Nice r/r - great pictures. I'm kind of surprised you were able to get out this early. My brother lives in Bainbridge Island - he's a mountain bicycle biker. I hear the going has been real spotty so far this year.

Love the Seattle area ride reports! This is the area that got me interested in Motorcycling. I was up there for six weeks last summer and spent every spare moment touring (in a SUV

)

I traveled from the Columbia River Gorge to Bellingham and from the Hoh Rainforest to Yakima and all points in between. What country!

I will be up there again the week after next - anything open yet that I can visit by car? I'll continue to scout roads until I can get my FJR up there!
