Damnit! I have a prior obligation that weekend. I make several trips each year to enjoy the AR roads and do not have a fall trip planned as of yet. I would love to hookup with you guys for some comraderie and ridin'.

Since you have to HOLD THE PHONE due to the hotel, should the trip happen the weekend before or after...I'm all in.

Have a great and safe ride,

mark

Would like to ride with you guys. I'm out of Joplin and have been around Arkansas a few times. Like the roads a lot. 23 comes to mind...

Been mostly around Fayettville and Eureka springs. When you know where your stying Friday night, post it or shoot me a pm as I will more than likely meet up with you there.

Lookin forward to the ride!

Assuming you're having a little work done or a visit with the resident expert in Bonne Terre? He is awesome. I'd like to join you as I've never done an Arkansas ride. Not sure if I can re-arrange the social calendar :dribble: but will try. If I'm too late for your hotel, I'll try to find another. Thanks for posting the ride plan.

I had hoped to ride with Smitty but guessed wrong with the weekends. As it is griff and I are going to head down after work and stay overnight in Bonne Terre Thursday night. We will then just enjoy all the usual fantastic roads between Hooterville and Mountain View on Friday. I will post up that route later. Petey's gonna join us in MTN View.

Mark, I should be able to meet you guys in Bonne Terre Thursday night for dinner but I am going to do the Falling Leaf rally that weekend and then head down to Mississippi and Alabama to meet some old service buddies and do some fishing. However, if the weather in the Rockies is good I will head out there for a week or so and then head for AL, MS, etc.

I am finally going on my first distance ride after the May wreck and am heading to Wisconsin to go fishing this weekend, Monday, Tuesday, and possibly Wednesday. I am then going to MN, ND, MT, WY, SD, and then home.

Hope to see you then.

Chester

It would be great to meet you Thursday night Chester...however, unlike other times, I am heading down AFTER work on Thursday so I won't get down there till pretty late. :(

I appreciate the thought and the post. It would have been great to eat at the Catfish Kettle like old times. I'm gonna miss that place and seeing Smitty as well...hadn't been down to Bonne Terre without Smitty and the Kettle. Oh well, ya can't have it all. In any case, we are gonna have alot of fun on this trip...that's for sure! :yahoo:

I am VERY glad you are healed/healing up and are going riding again. :clapping:

Have a GREAT time on your trip...sounds like you have a great adventure on your hands. :)

Sorry that I am going to miss you. Do however, miss the deer. Tis the season.

Chester, Mark's ride is the weekend after the Falling Leaf Rally. I plan on doing Potosi and making the gravel ride on Saturday. Smitty will be there too.

Mark, I'm trying to figure out how I might be able to meet you guys for the Ark ride. Don't count me in yet, but I'm workin' on it!

Man, riding in Arkansas, and in the fall! how does it get better? Is there such a thing as a party crasher on a motorcycle ride? If not, well good. I'm always up for riding when I can.

Looking at your maps, option #1 and #2, I think theres something wrong, unless you want to take several miles of dirt roads.

Look at waypoint #5 on hwy 16, just south of there it shows the east and west green marked route, thats a dirt road. You have to go south on hwy 7 all the way to Dover AR. to stay on paved roads, then up through Hector AR. on 27 north and east (great road). No big deal but it will add another 40 +/- miles to the route.

Actually to get right down to it, hwy 7 is closed between Dover and Pelsor, Pelsor is where 7, 16 and 123 come together. There redoing a bridge, not sure when its due to be completed.

Thanks for the tips...I've ridden in the area with Smitty, but have lost his route sheets. I'll take a closer look on my AR Gazetteer...

Regarding party crashing...this is an invite thread to others that may want to ride also. So come on down...there is no party crashing...don't want any other kind of crashing either....

Seems like it's a sell-out down there! I called Dogwood, Best Western... I'll make some more calls tomorrow but I may have dragged my feet on this one too long. I guess it's a popular time to be there - that, or WheatonFJR is a rock star and they heard he was coming!

I fold. I called about six places today and everyone is full. You guys have a terrific ride - I bet it will be beautiful! It looks like a five and a half hour ride from St. Louis to Mountain View - a little too long for me to get up early and meet you all for breakfast!! (I know, wimp!).

I'm sorry the places were full...hope to ride with you another time.

Nobody else has chimed in...so it looks like it will be petey, wheaton & griff.

Chime Chime Chime, I'm still a coming, got the last room at the Dogwood. I did call and check on some rooms and most hotels are booked up. But there are a few motels that still have rooms...so you better hurry!
