Just to let you know, this weekend I will post our Friday route from Bonne Terre, MO to Mountain View, AR. I will also post a route for our Saturday riding in Arkansas. I will have developed these from MS S&T 2005 and my MO and AR Gazetteers. After these are posted, if someone wants the S&T files, I can email those.

Petey, and anybody else getting to Bonne Terre on Thursday...I may leave work early and therefore be able to eat at the Catfish Kettle...if anyone is interested. I will know my plans by next Sunday.

Man, riding in Arkansas, and in the fall! how does it get better? Is there such a thing as a party crasher on a motorcycle ride? If not, well good. I'm always up for riding when I can.
Looking at your maps, option #1 and #2, I think theres something wrong, unless you want to take several miles of dirt roads.

Look at waypoint #5 on hwy 16, just south of there it shows the east and west green marked route, thats a dirt road. You have to go south on hwy 7 all the way to Dover AR. to stay on paved roads, then up through Hector AR. on 27 north and east (great road). No big deal but it will add another 40 +/- miles to the route.

Actually to get right down to it, hwy 7 is closed between Dover and Pelsor, Pelsor is where 7, 16 and 123 come together. There redoing a bridge, not sure when its due to be completed.

fjrrider,

Is route 7 closed north of 16 or south of 16? I tried to find Pelsor, AR and could not get a good bead on it. I am looking to head west on 16 to 7/123 North....then on the return trip after lunch taking either 123 east (from the south) to 7 to 16 east or 16 east (from the north) across 7 to 16 east. Will I be able to do this?

I am revising the routes and making up a final route and will post it up later this weekend...as well as the route from Bonne Terre, MO to Mountain View, AR,

Sorry to be slow in responding, been gone since last Thursday.

Hwy 7 is closed south of of where 7, 16 and 123 meet at Pelsor, (and your right, Pelsor is hardly a spot in the road)

On your route south to Mt. View, Hwy 9 from Melborne AR. is as twisty as it gets in Arkansas!

Thanks fjrrider for the comment...it looks then that we will be able to take 16 west to 7/123N to get up to the Cliff House...and then either loop around and take 16 back east or loop down south and take 123 back east to 16 east...

I will make up a couple of S&T files that I will send out as route options if people are interested. I don't have a gps...I just take my maps with me for reference and use S&T for planning. We can figure out which route to take when we meet Friday night.

I expect we will have breakfast somewhere at about 7am on Saturday and head out after that if all agree on that time.

If anybody is coming on Saturday's ride, but not attending breakfast...assume that we'll leave the Dogwood Motel (gas tanks full) at 8am.

I have some S&T2005 files of three options for Saturday's ride...if anybody is interested. Haven't picked which one yet...will talk with petey and fjrrider on Friday night to see which one they want to ride..

I was holding off till the last minute before committing, good thing as i have to go to knoxville this weekend. i hate that i'm going to miss riding with yall.

I see that you guys have routed thru 'Hasty' (East of Jasper) -- is the new bridge finished over the Buffalo R. there (and is the old low-water crossing history)?

Yeah, its been finished for a while now. Its fairly high above the river, so I dont know if they left the low water bridge in place or not. Next time across I'll stick my head over and check it out.

Not looking good. My VIP guest for Friday hasn't cancelled yet.
bummer.

Don't hate us if we have a good time. :) Which we will...just wish you could join the fun.

We'll have to get on the stick and get a southern Indiana ride before the season is over....to make up for it.

Well, you boys will be in banjo country, so run fast if you hear it. 123 North is one of my favorites, but watch that north end, it tightens up after lots of good sweepers on the south end.

And if you guys get as far west and south as Fort Smith on Saturday, we are having the first annual Oktoberfest at the house. You boys be welcome to swing by and eat and drink. Food served up about 6:00, banjo music starts at 8:00 pm, after all the skeeters are fed.
