I have been going to ''Rivi'' on and off for 35 years, and it has, every Sunday, without fail been a huge meet place for Bikers from all over the North of the UK. How long it was before that I dont know.
It centres on the car park of Rivington Barn. This is an 11th century tithe barn, (don't ask, I would have to google it to find out what it means). The building is huge and now houses a bar and cafe, and hosts all sorts of functions (weddings ect.). On a Sunday its a great place to head for to get some food and drink.
Behind the barn is a hill that can be seen for miles around, this is known as Rivington Pike. It has a beacon at the top which used to be lit in ''the olden days'' in times of peril. The last time it was lit was when the Spanish Armada was sighted off the South coast, (apparantly).
