FastJoyRide: I escorted them down the Westside Road this morning at what was probably a spirited pace on squared-off knobbies, but they were all smiles when we said goodbye - ride safe boyz!
Thanks for everything and the escort out of town Dave! Fun ride on Westside although I would have preferred it been on something other than nasty worn out knobbies. By the time Pan and I hit Hwy 3 we both dialed it back as we could feel the rear tire squirming in the tighter corners.

I'll have to rely on Panman for posting pics since I haven't ponied up anywhere...

Welcome home, Boyz! Can't believe US Customs let you back in...

JSNS and https://www.fjrforum.com/forum//public/style_emoticons/default/****.gif

Hugs n' Kisses

I have to say that all of the customs folks were the best I have ever experienced! They wanted to know about the S-10's where we had been, it was pretty cool.

I was hoping to relax and let my butt heal a bit, but that didn't happen. I spent about six hours mowing and raking today and then changed the oil on the Cub Cadet while the S-10 sits hurting needing much more. I have about three to four more hours to get the yard back in shape. I will start working on posting pic's soon.

Bugnatr: Did George get stripped searched at the border again like last year on the way to Nakusp?
Nope!! Breezed right through once I talked up the cute border agent gal.

Did Top of the World today - what a f*cking slop hole.My poor FJR will never be clean again.

Canadian FJR
I didn't find the Top of the World Rd to bad till we got thru US customs and headed for Chicken. I guess it was the nice black top that ended, I was thinking piece of cake then cam the next round of gravel. I think I was getting chilled and my shoulders started aching.

George feels the same about his S-10.

Rode to the top of Grey Mtn on the FJR today.

#1 stupid things to do on an FJR - the view was fantastic.

I think I have a good idea what George did ALL weekend.

Didn't find the TOTW technical, just the mess that slimy concrete sh!t all over my bike.

Very doable on pretty much any bike as long as one dials back the stupid lever.

I know he started don't know if he's done yet........... Prolly not as that was before we rode much dirt and gravel.

I have only took the hose to the tank bag and my hand covers so far, it's pretty disgusting! And the squared off 50/50 rear really looks bad.

That can't be George's bike. :0

It's been awhile so thought I should try to get a little more done on this. Chores aren't going away!

One thing I want to repeat is this ride is full of vista's, it's amazing how you can spend three hundred miles a day and just keep seeing so much.

We left Dease Lk and headed for Whitehorse Yukon.

Did I tell you that the road seems to go on forever?

DSCN0209_zpsqxxlb1y8.jpg

Stopped by Jade City again and snooped around for awhile had a free coffee as Dease Lk had nothing and we traveled light with no cooking stuff.

They had lots of cool old junk or treasures..

I liked how they cleaned this old root ball and turned it into a table stand.

Bought my wife a little Jade Cross to go with the little Turtle I bought her last time George & I were here.

As we were mounting up we meet a couple of old dudes on on a lower V-Strom and the other on a spider. We talked a bit and when George started rolling his eyes we headed north again.

When we got to the Alaska Hwy it was time to fuel and have a bite to eat. I should have taken a picture of my lunch special, a half a sandwich and a cup of soup. Boy did I get ripped off, it was more like a quarter of a sandwich and tea cup of soup. Oh well went and bought myself a dognut to help tide me over.

Heading up the Alaskan Hwy now.

DSCN0238_zpscjwntcp7.jpg

This shortly after leaving the Cassiar Hwy, kinda of felt like Big Sky country.

We hit a bit of road construction and as I was sitting behind a 18 wheeler I decided to go up to the front and as if we could pull up to the front so we didn't get pelted with rocks. They said yes so as I was going back to get George I stopped and told a couple of guys to move up with us.

DSCN0251_zps3yocqixn.jpg

It was nice being up front and not have to pass all of the slow traffic.

DSCN0250_zps2mpjrthp.jpg

This ride is a bit different of a ride, not a lot of twisty's just the ride itself.

DSCN0261_zps0iztlbri.jpg

Can't remember if this is the bridge into Teslin or Johnson's Crossing!

DSCN0264_zpssw26qwmb.jpg

Big ass river!

DSCN0274_zps9hvd9v4o.jpg

Started to sprinkle so the old point & shoot stayed in the tank bag the rest of the day. Next installment we'll head for Dawson City. I'll try to get back more often.

Dawson City.

Before we left Whitehorse we snooped around a bit.

The lady at the fuel stop said try the food at the little road side place so we did.

Dinner wasn't bad, I was sitting there thinking what the heck do folks do here in the winter so I asked the waitress that very question. She looks at me dumbfounded and asks me what do I do then tells us that she drinks beer and pointed across the street at the curling ring and sez they serve real cheap beers in her best Minnesota accent smiles and walks away.

Dirt streets and board walks.

Use to be a Red Feather at the bottom of Boeing Hill when I was young, my Pop would water there on the way home once in a while then I would to when I got old enough to sneak in.
