Have you sent up the suspension for you? If the suspension is not correct, the tires will cup and do other 'bad' things. Search for HaulingAshe's right up on how to do it. A friend of mine does suspension for track days and racers and set my '07 up for me - a world of difference in handling and tire wear.

I have my second set of PR2s on. The first I changed "too soon" but was leaving on a 6000 mile trip and did not what to have to deal with finding tires. The current tires have 17K and just reached the center wear bars on the rear. The front still has a ways to go. I'm 200# plus side bags are "half" full for week day rides and fill to 43# and re-fill at 41#.

17K miles on the same set has got to be some kind of record for the FJR. Do you only ride in parking garages ?

Yeppers...... 36K miles in 22 months, Damn that parking garage is getting old - PCH from San Luis Obispo to Oregon border, to Colorado and back, all the Sierra passes multiple times, and Jasper Nation Park. God I love the "left coast garage" :yahoo: :yahoo:

Excuse me please, I gotta ride the Yosemite parking lot and surrounds for the next 3 days. Suppose to be in the 70s...

I thought I was pretty easy on tires but I've never managed more than 9.5 k miles on a set. And I was hating them for 1.5 k before that and don't usually have to deal with the chip seal you guys out west have. Thats outstanding tire life, hats off to you !

I seldom get to use the tread either side of center here in grid layout Michigan.

My Roadsmarts lasted 5k. Better than the stock B21's, but still depressing. PR2's waiting in the garage to be tried out next.

What kind of tire pressure are you running in that front tire? I put nearly 7k on my first set of RoadSmarts and only took them off because I was going on a 4k trip and didn't think they would make it. I still have them in my garage because I'm gonna put them back on to finish them off. That second set of RoadSmarts is still going strong and I may take them back to North Carolina (another 4k trip) before they are finished off. If they last the trip, they will have 10k on them by the time I get back.
