I'm surprised you can remember that because .....never mind :blink: ......

When I take my FJR's wheel off at home for a new tire installation I place the wheel on its side in the trunk of my car for the trip to the installer. I've never noticed that it harmed the brake rotor or its fasteners. The rotor sits perfectly flat on the carpeted floor of the trunk.
