My gawd. That is magnificent.

Sorry, Iris, not talking about you (this time).

I absolutely MUST get out there to see that for myself. (searching around for maps...)

The picture is very good, too. It seems very high resolution. What did you take that with? I really should upgrade my old digital camera...

Fred,

The camera we use is a Sony, 7.2 Mega Pixels, 12x Optical Zoom, Model #DSC-H5 with movie capabilities. And trust me, I'm not a photographer, but I know what I like to shot. I will post more photos of our trip out West soon.

Jim

First things first, forgive me for posting the following photo of an ST1300. Now..........

Appreciate seeing the photos from Bridge Day and the mention of Route 3 in WV. I grew up in southern WV and still have lots of family and friends back there. In fact, I was on a car trip back that way a few weeks ago and was planning a car drive up to the higher elevations on the day after Bridge Day (Sunday). Well, it got much better as an old riding friend of mine just purchased a new ST1300 in August and told me that I should take it for the ride vs the car. Duhhhh!!!!! (Well, it was a little payback as he and his wife were visiting me in early July and we put a lot of miles on my 1800 Wing and my FJR.) Sunday was an awesome day as I rode from Charleston up US-60 to Hawks Nest, then south down to the New River, then back north over the New River Gorge Bridge (everything was already cleaned up by morning on Sunday), then on to the higher elevations in the mountains. 335 miles total for the day, with lots of twisties. And, the leaves were magnificent that day. Only thing that would have made it better was for me to have had the FJR and my old buddy riding his ST. However, I must say that it was a really sweet day, and riding alone can sometimes be the very best!!! Following is a photo of the ST that I took on WV Hwy 39 just east of Richwood.

Very cool of your friend, even if was payback. And what a nice way to get an extended test ride on one of the other leading sport touring bikes. Interesting to note that, at the end of the day, you wished you were on your own FJR. :)

Yes, very nice of him to do so on such a beautiful day. Please note that I really enjoyed the ST, but I do have the FJR set up the way that I like it, so that makes a big difference.

Very nice stuff Zoom! I have the Sony DSC H1, the predecessor to your camera and I bought it for the 12x optical zoom. Awesome lense.

So if you ever see my pics, you'll know yours are "h4" better than mine

Jumping off a high bridge seems too scary a thing for me to ever do. I just cannot imagine doing that. Great picks a a beaugtiful bridge and a really nice time of year!

Awesome pic and I imagine a great ride. If I were you I would turn this one into my screen saver. Thanks for sharing.

Hey Midlife,

Funny you say that....that scene has been my desk top background since last summer after our trip out West. I have a few more pics of our trip out West that I plan to post here soon. Glacier National Park is a spectacular place to see.
