DUDE!!!

ATGATT saves the day again.... Personally, I hate highway begs for that very reason. I put them on my GL1800 and they touched down that very day. Putem on a shelf right after that.

I am glad you are 5x5 Rode it to the ground too dintcha..... All you can do... Good job on ATGATT.. I will never ride less than 100% ATGATT again

Hope the bike heals well. I just dropped mine at the doctor too.

Peace out!!

Jim,

glad to hear that you are okay. Heal fast so we can ride some of those great roads next year (hopefully at the 08 EOM in Lewisburg) :yahoo: :yahoo:

"Gentlemen, the FJR is a siren. It will sing a song to you that you can ride it faster and faster, It will promise you that you can take THAT corner faster than you think. It will have you riding faster and will be whispering in your ear, 'Faster!'. The problem is that the FJR is not a 400 lb sportbike but rather a 650 lb. sport-tourer with less cornering ground clearance than a sportbike. If you ride this bike like a sportbike, eventually it will have you write a check you cannot cash."
A beautiful, eloquent, almost Shakespearean way of saying what I was thinking....

"Squidly is as squidly does."

Or in CenFla redneck speak "hey, ya'll......watch this!" :)
And the Georgia redneck said, "Shoot, I can do that!"

Glad to hear yer alive, heal up quick. Just remember what MM2, Howie and Keithaba and the Flier had to say. She's a trouble maker.

:jester:

Oh no! Very sorry to hear about this, Jim.

The bike can be fixed. Glad you're doing OK and that the accident was not worse than it was.

No doubt 311 is a challenging road with very little room for forgiveness.

Hopefully there is something left in the Ball canning jar to take your mind off of things.

I have some extra riding gear if you need them (helmet, jacket, boots) to help defray costs. Don't hesitate to PM and I'll ship 'em to you.

Mike,

Thank you for your very generous offer. State Farm will hopefully cover their fair share and besides, with a little needle and thread, I will have a dedicated set of gear for when I go play offroad on the KLR (have separate helmet for that).

One was one of VA's finest as he circled my bike taking a look shortly before sharing a performance award; and the other was Bruce of Freedom Motorsports (whom some you have met) as he came out to look at my bike while it was still in the pickup Sat when I arrived at the dealer. Both these guys have plenty of experience with bashed sickles.

Am I to understand that the officer gave you a ticket?

At least you know where to get some "Mountain water" to ease the pain

Lester has always let me sample the good stuff at his place, but would never let me leave with it. He actually let me bring some home for self medication - hell I might have crashed earlier if I had know that is what it would take!

Yep, a ticket of a particularly nasty nature - the kind where you show up in traffic court. Claimed he had no choice....? One vehicle, no one else injured, no property damage other than my own, no witnesses - I simply do not understand. Can you provide some insight? Would be much appreciated.

Several people I know have received the "Failure to control" ticket for single vehicle accidents with no property damage involved here in Ohio.

I wonder if you need a lawyer? Was the road marked properly, was the speed limit proper, was there GRAVEL in the road the state failed to clean up? Any lawyers on board here that can give some advice?

I would think they have to ticket you so you will have a harder time going after the state. They say it's your fault and not thiers. Good luck with this!

Wow...your grandma sued McDonalds for selling hot coffee, didn't she?

Did you read the thread from the beginning?

He admitted entering a 20mph corner at 50mph, then admitted "hard parts" started dragging, and you're looking to find the state at fault?

Cheese Louise, that there folks is what's wrong with society today!

Thank God Jim, the OP, admitted his responsibility, instead of pussing out and trying to blame someone/something else for the incident, as the above post suggests he do.

I find your post offensive. I had a sister named Louise. She over-dosed on cheese. You'll be hearing from my lawyer.
Yeah, well report me to an admin...I've got two whole blocks left on my Warn-O-Meter. Plenty to spare!

Plus, MY attorney is lactose intolerant and will eat YOUR shyster for lunch!

What is the charge on the ticket? And if you can post the citation to the statute on the ticket ( in other words what is the code provision that he claims you violated).

BTW, he didn't have to charge you, that is fully within his discretion. If he told you otherwise he is full of ****.

Taking responsibility for one's action is one thing, having the state step in and punish you even more when the only one and thing injured is you constitutes piling on. It's worse than the Friday dogpiling that takes place around here. :p
