:clapping: I'll be riding down for this ride if it's not raining and anyone that wants to ride along is welcome. Should be a lot of fun... :yahoo:
"We'll meet at a restaurant on the corner of Highway 78 and Highway 76 in Santa Ysabel near Julian. The Restaurant is called Apple Country. There is also a country store there that sells Julian apple pies and other goodies. There is a gas station just up the street from the restaurant. The area is lovely back-country with rural roads for photogenic rides, so bring your camera! See ya there, or be square! "

Here is one way to get there...
"We doing most of our riding for the day before the lunch. After the O.C. folks meet up at the Chevron on Ortega / I-5 we've got another meeting point and breakfast stop planned at Lake Elsinore around 7:30. We've then taking the long route to Santa Ysabel, as follows:
- Lake Elsinore to Perris, Hemet, San Jacinto on 74
- Poppett Flats Rd to 243
- 243 to Idyllwild
- 74 to 371, then to 79 South
- 79 South to S2 down to Scissor's Crossing in the desert
- 78 (Banner Grade) up to Julian
- Julian to Santa Ysabel
According to Streets & Trips it's a little less than 4 hours, which will get us there noon'ish. (We tend to stop for pictures, etc., so it may take a bit longer.)"
So who's in for this one if it's not raining...? :yahoo:
