Rub rail on side bag

For those that have repainted their side bag lid, what did you find that worked well to put the new black rubber strip on the lid. The strip that the "yamaha" logo is on? At $25 I don't want to buy yet another one. Thanks

Use automotive double sided trim tape that is waterproof.

I used (sparingly and carefully) 3M Weatherstrip adhesive to reinstall mine.

I used some 3M two sided tape and so far seems to be fine.

I spent about $44 for both sides, and used this:

On one side, I left the old adhesive and installed the trim over it, after repainting the bag. On the other side, I used an extra strip of 3M all weather double sided tape under it, after removing the old adhesive.

Both sides are very solid. No problems.

And, I have lots left over, for the next time I trash the bags! <_<
