Anyone have a Russell passenger seat they would be will to loan me for a test ride for my wife? I would pay shipping both ways and just need is over one weekend to test it out.

Thanks,

Grady

Grady,

Unless the person (woman?) that the seat was made for is the same shape and size as your passenger, it won't really be a good test. I'm assuming that you already have a Russell front seat for yourself and are wrestling with getting the rear seat done for her? If so, just plunk the money down and do it.

It's an even bigger improvement in butt comfort for the passenger than for the driver as the pillions tend to be sitting more upright and placing more of their body weight squarely on their posteriors. It's expensive, but well worth it.

No, I don't have a Russell front seat. Right now I've got a Rick Meyer seat for both of us, but would like to see if the Russell might be a bit better for her.

Well that's actually good! You don't have to make the same expensive mistake that I did.

I had a Rick Mayer dual seat too (bought used) and it just wasn't cutting it, for either of us. So I sent my stock seat set in to get the front Russellized and the rear just covered to match. I really didn't think that it was going to make that much difference. Boy was I wrong. I went from 2-3 hours of comfort on the Mayer to all day comfort on the Russell.

So, that was my expensive mistake. I ended up later getting ahold of a second rear stock seat and sending just that in to get Russellized and keeping the original nicely covered to match for when we are not two up. But getting just the rear done by itself was just as expensive as getting the front done by itself. So in the end I paid way more than if I'd have just ordered the dual seat conversion up front.

PS - I was able to sell the Mayer seat off no problem.
