leather also breathes more than vinyl. moisture will go through the sewing needle holes and take less time to evaporate. i'm going with leather too.

+1 on Leather just need to make up my mind about sport seat or no sport seat.... Somebody HELP ME..

The sport seat is something brand new at Russell. They are only making them because a number of people don't want the wings, which is what makes their seat so comfortable over the long haul.

If you look at the pictures of the sport seats on their web site they do not look much better aesthetically, than their standard daylong seat.

You would need to have a really good reason to not want the wings (like being too short) IMO. Personally, being 6'2", I would not risk messing with proven success.

Wait 'till next year?
That's a lot of painful miles to put in just to save $100 (savings at 20% on a $500 seat).
This group buy is now closed per the group leader on this buy I think. :dribble: At last count I saw 83 people signed up for a maximium of 60. Believe me, if I saw this before now, I would have signed up. I have been busy riding and not paying FJR forum attention. :drag:

Yup. Understood. And the one before it sold out too. Russell has become the most desirable seat for the FJR (based on numbers) and saving 20% on a custom saddle is nothing to sneeze at. What I am saying is that these seats are worth their full price, so just go ahead and order one. I'm sure that Russell will still take your order at full price. In fact, if you wanted to you could go to the head of the line by ordering before Nov. 2nd

Sent my order in today using the online order form....

got a reply today also:

Hello,

I put you on the calendar for November 25th. We will need you to send your seat so it is here about a day early. Once the date has started it will take about two weeks to get thru production. The photos you sent will work great.

Heather

So it seems the middle of Dec for a possible seat arrival/cpmpletion, WOW, must be a very busy place, OH WELL....

Sorry folks, I've been out of town for the weekend.
I just sent an email to those of you whose names I have. If you haven't received this email, please email me so I can get your name on the list.

As of now, we have 25 definite yeses or most likely yeses.

Spread the word, so we can get the 50 we need for the 20% discount.

If you are even thinking about getting a Russell seat, now is the time. This is the 2nd group buy in the past two months, and I suspect that there will not be another group buy this winter. So, now's the time.

Howard
Howard please add me to the list

The hubby's build date was Nov. 11 and I just got a call that it's done and on it's way back! Woo Hoo! I was worried that I was going to have to loan him my FZ1 for the ride to Pinks. :good:
