It is covered.If you are going to store your bike in a carport or open to the elements area for an extended time wrap the rotors and callipers with saran wrap. If you have respect for the bike you will cover it as well.

That was what I was going to suggest also, since he can't get it up the stairs and into the living room (maybe install an elevator?), that may be the next best thing down in the carport?How about one of the Zerust bags, or the Carbag system with the dessicant?
