I woke up at 6:45am today and thought that I would beat the heat and go for a ride early. I went to Tahoe. My only mistake was going up to Tahoe on Sunday morning. The ride there was great, cool and quiet. The ride back was a traffic jam of idiots with attitudes. Alittle over an hour to get there, a little over 2 hours to get back.

Every Friday evening, people in Sacramento suffer a doubled commute time because of the increased traffic going to Tahoe. Similarly, on Sunday, the West bound traffic is terrible. Blew my timing...oh well, the ride up was great!

Two or three weeks ago, Bren and I went up to Icehouse resort for breakfast. Good times! If we weren't on our way to Morro Bay via the 1 from Monterey, we would have tooled on up to Loon Lake and spent some time. It was a good Sunday ride, highly recommend.

Next time cut over on Icehouse road (from 50) to Uncle Toms down to Georgetown. Its an awesome ride.

We can ride it next weekend if you want.

Were you 2 up or solo?

I was solo this morning. For some reason, Sherri didn't want to wake up at 6:15 on a Sunday morning

yup, I can do that next weekend. pick a day!

but start a thread and pick the day in the ride planning section so we can get others involved

I live in Yuba City, and often go up to the Tahoe area and north to beat the heat. I chickened out this last weekend, seemed like it was going to be too darn hot. Just wondering how it was for you.

It was down right cool in the morning. I almost stopped to put the liner in my jacket. I left Tahoe area at about 10:30 or 11 and it was warmed up, but comfortable. By the time I made it back to the valley, it was certainly shaping up to be a scorcher. I don't think Tahoe at 10:30 is a test of how warm it would get up there. I more beat the heat by going early morning.
