I took my '09 FJR out for a spin yesterday (holy, two weekends in a row it was mild here!) and during the ride I just didn't have the smile anymore. I mean it was nice, but I was eager to get back and get on the 'Secret Weapon'. So I guess I'm now one of those spoiled propeller heads. I really thought I would keep the Feej in my collection but I truly have lost interest. Sad because I really loved this bike and I do have mixed emotions going on right now.
....and I still love the AE, one bad *** invention once you get use to it!
So now I have to start to take off my farkles (I will leave the HID's in), yes, the same farks that I had so much fun building and adding on with. It's a weird feeling, one that I thought I would never have. To come clean, the Beem is just so much more in every dept (for me). You Mama lovers (and I am still also btw!) will smirk, so be it, cuz it is what it is and this was not my intention but more a conclusion after a weekend of riding the FJR with the prior weekend spent on the GT-Sport.
So, I will defarkle and sell
My new GT-Sport (unfortunately) just trumped the Feej in every dept. And yes, price wise also and... by a long shot! So it's not an apples vs apples deal nor do I treat it as such. I still believe the FJR is the best value for the money, just nothing in comparison ride quality wise and feature set. And yes, the yellow NYS registration sticker sucks!
I still have passion for Japanese bikes, love their dependability and currently I'm in the market for a Yami 600 for my 17yr old son; Kris. He went to the IMS with us in Cleveland and he favored the Black Ninja 650. I'm trying to work on him
And.... I will still be around and go to meets (I know, "damn it!") I truly believe ...you FJR guys are the BEST! and at our meets/rally's, nobody rides with more enthusiasm and passion than you guys! Oh, nobody drinks better either!
