I took my '09 FJR out for a spin yesterday (holy, two weekends in a row it was mild here!) and during the ride I just didn't have the smile anymore. I mean it was nice, but I was eager to get back and get on the 'Secret Weapon'. So I guess I'm now one of those spoiled propeller heads. I really thought I would keep the Feej in my collection but I truly have lost interest. Sad because I really loved this bike and I do have mixed emotions going on right now.

....and I still love the AE, one bad *** invention once you get use to it!

So now I have to start to take off my farkles (I will leave the HID's in), yes, the same farks that I had so much fun building and adding on with. It's a weird feeling, one that I thought I would never have. To come clean, the Beem is just so much more in every dept (for me). You Mama lovers (and I am still also btw!) will smirk, so be it, cuz it is what it is and this was not my intention but more a conclusion after a weekend of riding the FJR with the prior weekend spent on the GT-Sport.

So, I will defarkle and sell

My new GT-Sport (unfortunately) just trumped the Feej in every dept. And yes, price wise also and... by a long shot! So it's not an apples vs apples deal nor do I treat it as such. I still believe the FJR is the best value for the money, just nothing in comparison ride quality wise and feature set. And yes, the yellow NYS registration sticker sucks!

I still have passion for Japanese bikes, love their dependability and currently I'm in the market for a Yami 600 for my 17yr old son; Kris. He went to the IMS with us in Cleveland and he favored the Black Ninja 650. I'm trying to work on him

And.... I will still be around and go to meets (I know, "damn it!") I truly believe ...you FJR guys are the BEST! and at our meets/rally's, nobody rides with more enthusiasm and passion than you guys! Oh, nobody drinks better either!

Good luck with the new bike....enjoy it. remember its not about the bike you ride, its about the ride....

Now on to more serious matters...your loss my gain :) . what farkles are we talking about here? anything you are going to sell?

Well...with the money you make off the sale of the FJR...you might have enough to replace that god awful lookin exhaust system. Enjoy!

Glad you're enjoying your BMW - that's what it's all about!
Right-on brother, ride what fits and becomes you!

2 different sets of sliders, wb powder coated highway pegs, I may keep the Guarald Exhaust tips on the bike?, they actually may enhance the sell a bit. Some others that I will post up as well.

I here ya, but I'm one that actually likes the exhaust. To me, it looks more modern than the round cans on the Feej. My farkle list is not very long for the GTS. It came with built in GPS, Alarm, TPM etc. and I had my dealer mount on Ilium tip over engine bars (w highway pegs). A RDL seat may be in the future however!

No worries KJ. It will just give us something else to poke fun at you about. Especially if you show up on that Bavarian dollar muncher next to Steamer and that ugly white bike!

KJ
I'm not terribly surprised. I doubt I would keep the Feej if I had the new BMW in the stable. I don't think it would like playing second fiddle to the Bavarian behemoth!

If we manage another NERDS (or son-of-NERDS) we'll still let you come and play. After all, we let Steamer come with the Cowasucky! No riding here anytime in the near future. Supposed to get another foot of snow mid-week and the long-range into April isn't very promising either! I usually manage to get the bike out by St. Patrick's day but not this year.

Are you still planning to do CFR in Newfoundland?

Cheers

Ross

Bob, can't be any worse than you guys bust'n me bawls up in Huntsville when I rode right after my vasectomy, yes, my nut sack was as big as cantaloups, even I can laugh at it now but that one bumpy route Yamafitter had us on... prob on purpose ;)

Steamer sold the white horse, I'm trying to talk him into a '13 FJR that someone has a very good price on... we'll see. He's a tightwad ;)

Hey Ross, you betcha!

I'm hanging with you guys all the way. Just cuz I drink another brand of beer doesn't mean I don't go to the same pub as you guys!

'nuff said :) Lets ride!

(for Steamer update, see above quoted txt)

Got a couple PM's on the stem mount. I altered the base to fit the ramball base. Couple of minor nicks but overall good shape.

$40 shipped CONUS. I paid $79.95 + ship,so I will offer at below 1/2 cost into it.

Intech had 1st PM in (1st refusal), MrZappo next batter up.

*Update* Stem Mount SOLD- Intech

I’m looking forward to going on my first FJR group ride, hopefully NERDs this year with management approval. If it happens and KJ goes, now there will need to be one extra thing to plan for….who will carry what tools for KJ to use? We’ll wait for you at the rest stops.

Seriously, enjoy that new bike and hope to see you at one of the rides.

Heck, bring all the tools, even the kitchen sink. If I don't need it for repairs, we can at least throw ice and beer in it!

Thanks :) and I hope we can meet up at a ride sometime soon, not sure if the nerdy boyz are up to the task this year?

Congrats on the new bike KJ. Whoever gets yours is going to be very happy. I've never ridden with anyone else who polishes their bike twice a day! (that's the motorcycle I'm talkin' about) :)

Thanks Mikey, and yepper u better know it! (well once a day maybe ;)

Pristine may just be an understatement.

sorry to hear your selling but good luck with the new machine!!! now...how much for the bar ends?

KJ, you're a fookin' liar..... secretly not telling us that Steamer was just putting on a show playin' possum in "not keeping up", and you need six cylinders to stay ahead of him...... c'mon tell the truth!

In reality though, when anyone has two capable sport tourers in the barn, I'd think one of them isn't going to get ridden much.... I certainly wouldn't keep two if it was me....... take the Feej cash and get a '14 Super Tenere!

Well, I was going to make an offer, but I can't ride anything that clean.
