Here in southern Ontario they say we have about three days of beautiful weather .... then the snow

Rode my bike to work last night and it was very nice riding home at 2am... I think I am going to ride again tonight.

Hey Parkerspop:

I think you and I got our FJRs about the same time from OTD Cyclesports here in Calif (mine came from their Marina Del Rey store however). It must be a bummer having to say goodby to riding for a season, something us Californians don't deal with (typically). Oh well, that's offset by our bad air, too many people, liberal politics.....

I would think twice about a cover however - prevents looking at that beautiful Black Cherry color.

Well, I think I'll go now ride Francisco to the Kings River and cast a bead head flash back pheasant tail nymph to cruising rainbow trout, then come home and fire up the BBQ and grill something to eat outside on the patio with a nice Beefeater and tonic.

Or, maybe I'll ride 136 miles and stand on the beach at the Pacific Ocean and....

This is what I found this morning. I think it is time to put the FJR on the lift and start winter chores.

You Californian's just love to rub it in don't ya...maybe you'll get your bike scratched whil riding during the winter months and mine will still be pristine come spring...sorry I just gotta find something good about covering up.

PS how as your experience with OTD? Price was great and easy transaction...service so so .

PSS rain mixed with snow today.

It was a sad day here over the weekend. I took the bikes out for one last ride as the weather was beautiful, bought oil and filters, threw some Sta-Bil in the tank and filled them up. I lovingly washed the bikes and dried them, of course then I had to ride it again, but then carefully parked in the garage put the covers over them and said goodbye for the year. Today the weather is nasty and we expect snow midweek. Of course with weather like we often see it could snow one day and then hit 70 the next.I guess I may have to live through this forum for the next few months.

I don't live too far from you and I don't put the bike away for the winter.

There's always those few nice sunny days, albiet chilly, where you can get in at least a 30 minute romp around town.

It's good for the soul and the bike.

Something to consider.......
Lake Powell,

I didn't happen to meet you a couple of weeks agon on 90th south did I? Sure was a purty bike...

It was a sad day here for a different reason. I bought a new phone for the house and had to transfer new numbers and while I was at it I edited the numbers on my cell phone.
I was really overtaken by sadness when deleting OrangevaleFJR's home and cell numbers and the same for TWN's. I'm really still a bit down from the experience. I still haven't deleted their email addresses.....Am I a silly man, or what!?!?
They are still both on my phone too.

I have a 07' A Black Cherry but I don't think it was me. The only other Feejer I'm aware of (07'A model) is ARTISTONFJR. I do live iin that south area of Sandy, however.

The only other FJR I know of is CDogman, he has a silver AE model, I think it is also an 07' (not sure).

**** pms I lived in brooklyn and staten ialand, n.y you can sneak in days here and there as long as you dress right .

Oh, hell no! If/when I put my bike away, I'm not checking these forums until it comes back out.

No way am I spending all winter reading about those SoCal SOB's bragging on how much riding they are getting in...

:)

I feel your sorrow..........Just did the same thing with all my bikes except my klr 650. Looked out the window last night and saw blowing snow and temps in the low teens. Already looking forward to March!

Parked both my scoots yesterday here in Northern Ontario.

Want to know how good the FJR is? I rode my Meanstreak over to my buddies garage, it was +6C, damn near froze my chimmy-chongas off. Rode the FJR over a couple hours later when it was +3C, and I took the long way as I was nice'n toasty.

So begin's the long white. Help a poor frostback get through the winter, post up pics and ride reports!

Silly, no. Sentimental yes.

For you folks who are Stabil-izing and covering and Battery-Tending, I'll be nice and not slam you with how phreaking nice it was out here today and how I could have gone riding but I didn't cause I know tomorrow will be even warmer and better and so forth and so on.

Truth be known, today was a beautiful day to go riding but my home server decided to drop 2 hard drives in a Raid-5 configuration...

As an olive branch I'll offer to post more ride reports over the winter, try to improve on my photography and words, in order to help my Eastern brothers and sisters through the long cold winter.
Good to hear. We are still riding here in Virginia. Glorius color and good temps.

THAT'S what I like to hear! I'm 20 miles west of Philly . . . . 31 degrees this morning . . . . . frost on the car windshields . . . . on went the winter gear . . . . . warmed up the FJR and off I went to work . . . . . snug as a bug in a rug! Clear skys, lots of sun . . . . . where there's a will, there's a way. Keep ridin'.

Say what? That's your problem right there - now is the time to take her apart and do some serious farkling. So get that plastic off and get to work, by the time you figure out how everything goes back together it will be time to ride!
Be careful about following this guys advice! I made that mistake last year and I had FJR parts all over the basement, all over the garage floor, in the rafters...

Not silly at all Mike. Just reminded of two good men who left us before their time. I thought of Andrew, during the recent fires. It was during the Santiago fire last year, that I read the news about his death. As for Tim, I'm still expecting to see his and his salute at the next California gathering. When he doesn't show up, maybe I'll accept that he's really gone.
