Just bought a FJR 11/08/08 how do you remove the saddle baggs they seem stiff dont want to break anything any help I would appericate.

They are always stiff at first. Just use your key and unlock the latch and then lift up on the handle. It will come but will take some pressure at first. Also do not forget to lock tite your locking mechanism screws.

I have one bag that sits on the rubber pads tighter than the other, I just push up by tapping on the underside at the rear while pulling upward on the handle slightly, once it breaks free of the rubber pad it'll lift off easy enough. The other bad will just lift off.

There are adjusrment shims that come/came with the new luggage (IIRC, 3/side) that allow the repositioning of the front/lower mount. That may need looking at .....?

The mounts are also bend-able with a BFTool....but, be careful (better off the bike -- in a vise).

note: above applies for Gen I -- not sure about Gen II.....

Mine were tight to remove and install at first. Unlock it. Using the reflector as a handhold, wiggle the bag while lifting the handle. Works as well when reinstalling the bag(s). Over time they'll loosen up a little.

K. I'm gonna assume you kno to first unlock the bag and then lift the handle until it is standing straight up. That's all there is to it. Since I would bet your are afraid of the hang-up you get while lifting the handle, it is perfectly normal. Just wiggle a little (if that makes you feel better) and lift. It will feel like it wants to break, but it won't. It will loosen up as you use the bags more. I try to clean those crevices out real good when I wash the bike just to help keep them smooth.

Be careful putting them back on and make sure all the bag connection parts are in the bike connection parts. It can be difficult to figure out at first. Have fun.
