Has anyone considered doing a "there-and-back" to Russel Seats up in Northern CA, dropping off the bike for the saddle process, sleeping while it's going on, then hopping on and doing the return leg in time to qualify? From what down here in San Diego, a run to Russell is 668 miles best shot. An intriguing idea this fall.....thoughts?

Biggest problem I see is that you are betting the Russel will turn it around fast enough. That's not to say they won't, but I wouln't want to have to relly an another party to help me make the 24 hour limit.

Don't do it. You don't want your butt to be tender or sore at all when doing to your appointment. Your going to have at least 2 fittings with the seat and you need to be able to give good feedback about the seat. They mentioned to me that a lot of ride in peeps do exactly what you mentioned, then end up calling and asking for the seat to be modified because it doesn't seem to fit them well anymore.

My advice is to head up the day before and get a hotel room nearby. I think I got a room in Anderson CA, which was about 30 miles south of Russel.

Russsel will take about 6 hours to do your seat and thats if your tech skips lunch and all goes well.

Sign up for the Spank Rally and do it there. If you aren't already an IBA member you can get your certificate, License Plate Holder, IBA Number and California pin right there at the rally banquet.

RB,

Larry (wwfjr) has been think about the same thing. You two should hook up (not in an intimate way, unless you want to, then hell you guys are adults, right?).

Barry

Just signed up for the Spank in October. BTW, where the hell is it starting from? The website left a little bit to be desired in terms of factual information/details like that.

Spank Rally will start and end in Escondido CA.

I sent my registration in this morning. As soon as GZ gets back from picking up his new (to him) bike back east he will most likely send yours an my information regarding meeting time/location and hotel information.

What, and not wait over a year for it instead....what's the fun in that!

He didn't want a Gen II bike, he wanted a Gen I bike.
