Sampson pegs

I need some feedback from anyone that has used the Sampson highway pegs on a 2004.The pegs that are Sampson uses is the same for the Gen 2 bikes but I have to cut a small hole in my plastic.I have seen too many busted engines from using the wild bill models.I am planning a really long haul and need to relocate my legs from time to time.Any advice photos or tips would be appreciated.

I assume that you are referring to when you lay the bike on it's side while still moving?

i've not "seen" even 1. i did read about 1 that did something to the casing as a result of a crash that impacted the deployed peg. it made me aware again to fold them up in the twisties but i didn't consider it "a lot of motors".
