well, after another minor hickup (AJ and i were at the wrong wal-mart. easy correction) we had an awesome ride!! the weather was perfect, the roads were clear and dry, the cheeseburgers were great and so was the company.

there were 9 of us on 7 bikes. 2 cruisers, 3 FJR, and 2 sporties.

the restaurant we were SUPPOSED to go to was closed (probably for the season. we'll try again) so we came back down and had lunch at Los Ojos.

coming down the hill (at 60-65 in the twisties. GAWD i love this bike) i was getting LEFT BEHIND!!! HRZ and NMRR are some BADDAZZ riders. i still can't believe Eddie was throwing that Vulcan Venture around like that...

i am really looking forward to doing that again...

thanks again for a great trip.

Paul.

It was a BEA-utiful day! The weather was absolutely perfect, and except for getting "passed-up" by that huge girl on the Victory, the ride was great. We ran north of Jemez into La Queva, but the resturant was closed. I bet they don't open up until the campers start coming in droves. So, we turned around and headed back through the fun stuff south back to Jemez. Had a really good lunch at Los Ojos and then everyone but me headed south back to Albuquerque.

I decided the roads looked good and wanted to see what the really fun stuff looked like, so I took Hwy 4 north towards Los Alamos and White Rock. The road was nearly empty, mostly dry, and pretty sand free. The corners I knew would have sand in them still had a red tint, but not bad. There were a couple with some snow run-off crossing the road, but nothing bad.

I didn't get back until about 4:30...I think I did 260 miles on one tank, so stopped for gas before putting the bike away. All in all a great day.

NOW...How many of you have heard of "Buzz Balls"? We were riding Hwy50 between Bernalillo and San Ysidro, pretty close to the speed limit. One of the cruisers was leading, and I was being lazy near the rear. A couple of cruisers, one of the a Victory piloted by that big gurl come up on us and pass us. When we get into San Ysidro, we stopped at a gas station where there were probably 25 cruisers parked in a group.

The girl from the Victory comes up and asks us if we are STAR riders because, "When I passed you up, I noticed all the Yamahas." She yapps for a minute, and I notice these little white cans in her hand that look like small renditions of the CocaCola baseball bottles. I ask her what they are, and she tells me BuzzBallz. Little mixed drinks right in the can, and she has 7 or 8 of them.

So, we start to leave the parking lot, and instead of heading straight for the road, I decide to go by the cruisers and take a look. Sure enough, every ****** bag there has one or two of these little things in their hand. Just great...Idiots that can't ride for **** adding a little liquid courage to the mix. I'm glad we got out of there before they did.

THEN, we are eating, and who shows up, but the fat chick with a mug of beer. Gawd...Those people are stoopid.

So...Be careful, there's a new more convenient way to get a buzz on before getting on a bike, commanding the road, and crossing the yellow line.

Oh...Look, a little video for our entertainment:

So why no pictures of the fat chick on the Victory for Bustanut joker, Radio Howie and Papa Chuy? What the hell kind of Ride Report does not have any fat chick pics?

weren't you supposed to BE HERE?? you would have gotten to see her first hoof..... erm.... hand...

IT was an excellent day for riding, but jesus there was alot of iron (traffic) on the road. I should have gone with you AJ, I got hung up in traffic in Bernillio, then turned onto 528 and got hung up dropping down into the valley on Alameda, I didn't get home until 4pm myself. Hot and unhappy to say the least. So I had to go out on Sunday and laydown about 350 miles up to Chama for lunch at the "High Country" and back through Abique and Cuba. Perfect riding weather. :yahoo: Thanks for inviting us along for the ride BP and it was a pleasure meeting you and your riding buddies. :) and the "Victory Queen" was very friendly, as most big girls are when they are doing "Buzz Balls" and she had 8 of them in her arms when she walked up on us!

My bad on extending invitations to all, It was unplanned if you will. I got up Sunday morning and did a few honeydo's, and said "to hell with this". Jumped on the scoot and went north to Santa Fe and was going to do a reverse of Saturdays planned route, got to Puaque, and the bike just wouldn't turn left to Los Alamos. It's been a while since I saw Shea at the High Country so what the hell! :yahoo: I'm sure you understand how that can happen. I'll call on short notice next time, maybe you can make it, maybe you can't. :)

Mmmmmmmmmm...We need to go get a Laguna Burger. Apparently they are selling a close knock-off at the gas station right there by the 66 Casino, but the real Laguna Burger is the one to have.

FWIW...Gonna ride to Madrid this Saturday with some friends. If any of you want to come, you're welcome.

As for RR's ride to Chama...That has happened to me before. Except, once or twice, I have found myself FAR from home thinking, "****...Now I gotta ride home."
