Well, my ribs still hurt. Boring. Let's get on to something interesting:

It seems that my insurance company was in a bit of a hurry to settle our account. They classified my FJR as a total-loss and made me an offer. A very fair and generous offer. I took their check.

Now, it should be noted that after I spent my entire disposable income on the FJR, my lovely wife decided that she would like to get her own bike and learn how to ride as well.

Well, some blessings come with a little pain. Though my FJR was totalled, I took the insurance check and my best friend (wife) to the world-famous D & H Cycle in Cullman, AL. We were able to pick TWO new bikes and we even have some change left over! For myself, I chose a Red FZ-6! Saaaawwwweeeeeet! For the wife - she took her time and chose a kawasaki Vulcan 500! Also in RED! Double SWEET!

As sweet a bike as the FJR is, this is the one thing I would gladly sacrifice the bike for! We have his/her rides! Too cool.

So now I will be scheduling a MSF course for her and of course, there will be plenty of trailering her bike to various parking lots for practice, practice, practice! May my ribs be the only ones broken on a bike! Long ride my baby!

I do think this is the coolest thing since the invention of the motorcycle itself!

And of course, pictures will be coming soon!

Welcome back Scab,

My missus started riding last year and it is really nice to go riding together....even if I have to slow down.....a lot!

So now I will be scheduling a MSF course for her
You crash and she's the one that has to take the course?????? Might want to rethink that strategy (note: I pitched in to the 'buy Scab a Hustler and a 6-pack fund', so, I can get away with this.)

Where you gona do the MSF? I think the closest to you is my backyard (Montevallo)

Well done Scab, and congrats to Mrs Scab for her new bike.

Hope you get well quickly and start riding that new toy-bike of yours...

Stef

Sounds like things are improving, Scabby. Good stuff.

Honestly, not sure why you didn't wait for a new FJR. Does that mean you have to switch forums? That makes it not worth it alone!

Kidding aside, best of luck.

WOW, I crash, my wife threatens to leave me if I don't stop riding....

YOU crash, and she gets a bike to ride with you....

HONEY!!!! COME HERE!!! I want you to read something! :D

Glad to hear your doing o.k. Only thing more fun than a motorcycle, is 2 motorcycles!!!

David, surprise on my part... but good news that Anita will get a chance to form a new passion (if it was anything like me hopping on a bike).

I am glad to hear that things are going well. Bear that pain & get back in the saddle. Good luck to you and yours.

Hope that we can catch up to ride together again.

Heidi

Uhh? Excuse me SCAB, but what will happen to your MC Trailer now that you no longer have an FJR to pullit? Can a trailer hitch be added to an FZ 6? :eh-smiley:

If I am not mistaken, they are running the MSF course at JSU once or twice a year. That's where Steph took hers when I lived that way.

Scab, let me know about the HF changer. If you still want it; it's yours.

My buddy has a FZ-1. Nice bike. There are many mods for it and I would assume the same applies to the FZ-6.

Because he probably didn't have full recovery insurance to pay for a brand new scoot.

That is too cool :) Glad you'll be getting back in the saddle, and kudo's to the Mr's for joining you.
