Oh my... I actually lool like I'm posing! Hahaha!!!

Mike, be sure that I'll be posting up a touche' picture upon development of my film in my dino camera.

I'm sorry the weather for Sunday looked like crap. I would've liked to stay for another day. I cleared some decent mileage from Friday morning to my return home on Saturday evening. I was just under 900 miles.

Man, I don't know how those iron butt riders do it! After burning through about 150 miles w/ no break was KILLING the... well, you know! I'm going to seriously consider a custom seat... but that money you pay!!! I dunno' if I could do that anytime soon.

Mr. Pop & Mr Parker... I am extremely jealous of them thar' hills in your backyard.

That's some shaweet ridin' in them thar' hills! THat was some funnnn stuff!!!

Thanks for the "beginning of the season" fun guys.

Lorie and I visited the area this past Saturday - in the car unfortunately. We're looking for places to actually retire to. Beautiful area - looked around Wayesboro and then north to the Staunton area. Called our daughter at JMU and had dinner with her - and a couple of her friends of course - Sat night. Haven't ridden the area and Lorie and I are both looking forward to it - hope the weather holds or I may be ridding alone!

Jim, this area is Shady Valley, TN. You'll be checking it out in full exploration mode if you're planning to attend EOM in September. The area is awesome! You might consider looking around here for retitement, also.

Ya know, I was thinking the 11 Mar Old Dominion rider's group meeting in Waynesboro VA when I said were in the area....they say your mind is the second thing to go! I'm so confused....

Lorie and I are going to try to get to the EOM in Sep and if so we will check out the area. We lived in Camp Lejeune NC for 4 years and did venture to W. NC, but have only passed through TN while travelling. Geez, then I could sing to Lorie that, "All my exes live in TX, that's why I hang my hat in TN!"

Well, I hope that we'll be seeing you in September Jim.

Oh, I wanted to tell you... Shady Valley is easily accessible from Virginia. You would travel south down the parkway to Rte 58. Go west out Rte 58 (which traverses the bottom of VA & is a really really good ride normally... there was a lot of leftover gravel from snow removal/traction actions) to Rte 133 in Damascus, VA. (this is easily a 2 hour ride from the BRP) There, you drop south on 133 into Shady Valley. It's actually not a very long ride from Damascus. Maybe 20 minutes, or so into the valley.

The area is definitely worth riding/exploring. Guaranteed, you wouldn't be disappointed by any of the roads leading in/out of the valley.

I'll be seeing you on the 11th when it's time for the Old Dominion Rider's first meet.

BTW... if anyone wants a link to Shady Valley's motorcycle playground, here it is playground linky

Well, be riding this one during EOM. Check it out. There's some premo riding here folks.

Luvtoride, you may want to look at Alaska Leather. For 50 $ you can get a lambs wool pad to fit the factory seat. I have both corbin and Alaska Leather. I have found that I really do not need both. However, I think the lambs wool pad is an excellent product. Especiallly, for the price. Good luck!

Vagabond, thanks for the suggestion. I've actually considered this b4 but think that I'd be creating a problem with my inseam length. I flat foot now... but JUST flat foot. I'm thinking any additions to the seat I'd be having a problem, though. I'm dealing so far. That was my first trip of the year.... & damn, I was sore after... but hoping for it to get a bit better as the season wears on.

luvtoride,

I read a post (w/ pictures) where someone modified the stock seat w/ a foam or gel insert (?) but can't remember if it was on this board or the "other" board.

Maybe someone can remember better than me. This would seem to be a lower cost alternative to a new, custom seat.

I think the guy who did the modification did furniture uphostelry...maybe a good furniture repair place near you could help.

Heidi - I remember the thread Brazos Parker is talking about - I think the guy actually did it himself; I'll hunt around and see if I can find the thread. I'm pretty sure that Rick Mayer will "refoam" your stock seat with his foam and recover it as you like. You can also get him to do just the rider's seat with his stuff and he'll just recover the pillion w/whatever you chose for the rider's seat. I paid $525 for rider and pillion in leather, but I know he has cheaper deals. If you haven't sat on a RM you can try mine out on 11 Mar. You can put it on your bike and take a SHORT ride - my butt can't take the stock seat for too long!

Cool Jim, I'd really like to take you up on your offer. Just a short run, too. Wouldn't want you with a case of "oh, my ass is sore!".

I actually do ok on the stocker. It sure would be nice to have a custom that I can sit on for longer, though. Corbin is definitely out. I sat on one of those... it's like sitting on a brick! I was informed that the seat doesn't break in to your ass... your ass breaks in to the seat.

NO THANK YOU!
