I have just come back from a ride. Its about 3 degrees here at the moment so pretty chilly. I noticed that when I put the screen from its lowest to its highest at 40mph the whole upper leg/seat area became warmer. Must be something to do with the void caused by the screen sucking warm air from around the engine.

The point being, it must do the same in hot weather. The heat wont be such an issue here as we dont get as hot as you guys, but knowing that this happens may help over there.

PS 05 with standard screen.

The higher the screen the lower the pressure behind the screen. I like it in cold weather. In hot weather I put 6 thick washers under the front mounting of the screen with longer bolts to let more air under the screen, almost eliminates the heat problem. I don't feel the heat to be a problem once I do this.

I very rarely ride with the stock screen up. Only on very cold mornings. I can't see me getting a bigger screen either.

I have ridden for many years without a screen at all or a very small one, so I guess I am used to it.

It is warmer with the screen up. I find it quite comfy, even at high speeds, with the stock screen down.

There definitly more heat with the screen up on my 06. thats why i waiting for the V-stream windshield. I'm trying to maximize my wind protection (without looking through the screen) while keeping the screen at a low enough level to keep the heat down. Time will tell on the V-stream. Not available yet for the 06.

Same for me. Screen down unless there's a pretty good reason to raise it. It's real nice when it's cold or there's a headwind.
