In one week I'm leaving NE on a 2 week vacation to the black hills to see my folks, then to Yellowstone and up to Glacier National Park. If any of you guy are familiar with the area (WY or MT) could you give some ideas of some good roads to travel? I'm in no big hurry on the trip, so my wife and I will be camping.

I'm really looking forward to leaving work behind for that time. :hyper:

Thanks!

Stay off of 212 out of the Black Hills headed NW into Montana. There is a construction zone somewhere south of Broadus and it was hellish. Wet, sticky clay, I've still got it on my FJR. It was slicker than snot on a doorknob, even at 5 - 10 mph. I was just out there, all over Montana at the beginning of July.

The Lolo pass on the MT Idaho border is my all time favorite (this year) about 100 miles of really nice twistie bits

One of my favorite roads of all time was going out the east gate of yellowstone, all the way down to Cody, WY. Hwy 14/16. Then alt 14 to Ranchester.

You can camp for free in Ranchester town park right on a nice little creek. (I think its the Connor Battlefield park, but not sure of the name, any one in town should be able to point you there) Theres also a Conoco, and a Liquor store handy.

If you have the time check out the Little BigHorn memorial in S. Montana, the ridealong path is kinda cool.

Have a good ride, wish I was there...
