I've got 2 days to get to EOM from Michigan. I figure I will take mostly slab south to Columbus, OH. I'd like stick to 2 laners from there on. What's out there for good roads in SE Ohio??

Thanks!

HSTA has its Mail Pouch Fly By rally from Aug 22 -24 in Marietta, Ohio just NW of Parkersburg, WV with a claim to great roads. Check the routes in the Wayne National Forests SE from Columbus. I traveled a number of these areas in route to a Mid Ohio near rain out and had a great time. Lots of hills with blind crests followed by quick turns. Count on a bunch of unintended wheelies and bottoming of your suspension. Very Exciting!! The SE corner north of Huntington is also a hoot.

I should have routes for the rally in a few days. In the meanwhile, here's a link for you: Ohio Sport Bike Roads

Are you going to stay in SE Ohio overnight on the trip? If so Marietta would be a good place to start. Here are some roads to check out.... 146, 78 800, 145, 536, 556, 148,7, there's a bunch more.

555 is a fun road.

The Hocking Hills area is pretty good as well. In fact, if you're just gonna slab it to Columbus anyway and can make it to the Hocking Hills area, check out Hocking Hills Information for directions / information / lodging.

Hi Wayne,

If you’re looking at a direct route to Lewisburg & wanting to do a couple of nice roads on the way I would suggest that you take 33 out of Columbus to Rt. 37 to the "Triple Nickel" Rt. 555 all the way to the river. :yahoo:

One of the best roads in SE Ohio that has just been repaved this year, you won't be sorry.

From there you can do Rt. 50, to Rt. 16, to Rt. 60 to Lewisburg which is how a group of us went last year.

16 is a bit rough but still a very fun road & the ride up to Ansted on 60 is a blast.

Tom

Thanks everyone for the input. Going to spend some quality time with the map over the next couple of days.

Yes, going to slab to Columbus (I-75/US-23). If we get an early enough start, we're going to hit the AMA museum and the Ironpony.com store.

Not sure where we're going to stay over night. Have to look at mileage and travel time and see where that puts us, but it should be in the neighborhood of Parkersburg, WV.

Thanks again.
