I took a 200 mile ride coming home and, despite the damned wind, am home safe and sound.

Thanks to "Buzz Kill," AKA Wayne, for suggesting this lil' gathering. And thanks to Marty for putting the routes together!

I would also like to thank Gary for buying us lunch yesterday, and Steve for buying us dinner last night. Thank you VERY much! We appreciate it!

Yea...I'm home too. Got here at around 12:30. After 825 miles and one hell of a water crossing, through the FSB roads of SE Ohio. Thanks for everyones efforts for another successful Ramble.

Home after getting blown around a bit today. What a fantastic weekend! Thanks to Wayne and everyone that helped put this together. It was great seeing everybody again.

Home Safe. 430 miles of slab today but the time there was worth it 10 times over.

I've had my FJR for a couple years now but this was my first FJR Group ride. To say it was an eye-opener is a giant understatement! I didn't know there were roads like that but more importantly, I didn't know there were other guys who like to ride like that. My riding buddies have all gradually gravitated to the cruiser crowd. Glad to have found some other guys who want to ride twisties at a bit more than a relaxed pace!

I also understand my motorcycle a lot more than I did a week ago. I had been gradually turning it into a Hondapotamus with a bigger windshield, softer suspension, etc. I now know what that motorcycle was built for and it's more than cruising at 65 mph on slab. A good back road with the right group of guys and these things are a ball!

Thanks to everyone who helped put it together and a special thanks to Wayne (EM) for leading a great ride with a fun group to The Iron Pony on Friday. And just when I thought I'd never find another ride like that ever again Mark (Wheaton) did a super job leading a great group around the East loop on Saturday. Many thanks!

BTW - Does anybody have any video of those roads/rides? I didn't think to bring my GoPro but I'd love to show my wife (and riding buddies!) what it was like.

660 miles of slab. Boring, but the weather kept changing, so that made it interesting. Home safe now. Thanks to everyone who helped make this a great weekend.

meg and i pulled out this morning at 6:30, made it back home by 9:30 then off to the amusement park with the kids. meg agrees that the flat boring roads of seo were much more exciting than the rollercoasters.

thanks to phil for telling me about the rally.

thanks to wayne and crew for organizing.

thanks to andy and suzzie for guiding us along the eastern loop on saturday.

Got home safe, 15hr ride, the last 4hrs... mid to high 90's and 35mph side wind.... yuck

Such a boring weekend on all those straight, flat and boring roads. The stop and go traffic in Toronto was much more fun.

Thanks to Wayne to making the ride happen, Marty for the Basecamp magic and all those that scouted out the routes. It was big fun after such a loooooong winter.

By the way there were ice flows in the Niagara River as I crossed back over the Peace Bridge in Buffalo on the way home and the outside air temp gauge in the Highlander was showing 40oF (8oC). The truck and trailer was the right call for getting there and back.

Not trying to hijack the thread, but they started taking the ice boom out this week, which is likely why you saw the ice going down the river. Lake temp is at 33 degrees. It's going to take a while to get warmer, so it will act like a massive air conditioner, cooling the winds that blow in off the lake. Nice cool spring I think.

No ice floes for your lake crossing this weekend, eh?

Thanks to all in making this Ramble happen. It was well worth the thrashing I put up with on the first day down. I left at 6:45 this morning and arrived home by 6:15 P.M.

740 miles later and 24.5 miles into the reserve tank when pullng up to the garage. Couldn't have planned it any better. Wait did I say I planned that? Scratch that, just **** luck.

Had a great time,

Thanks again to all, Dave

Nothing wrong with trailering...

Got home safely...almost 1,100 total miles round trip, met some great guys and gals, excellent time riding those flat straight SEO roads, head wind most of the way back home today as well as a "little gift" from the Ohio State Troopers... :-(

Home safe, thanks to all that organized. Mucho appreciation.

Jeanne and I got back around 3 on Sun.

Took the Sistersville ferry back to West Virginia.

Battled those damn cross winds all the way.

Good to see everyone again.

Thanks to Wayne and all those that helped put this together.

Agree, special thanks to Wayne for putting this event together and for down loading the maps. Made a big difference riding solo. Also I believe it was Bill that I met at pizza diner on Thursday night, for running point on Fridays run. It was a great pace and the stops were perfect. Wish I had more time to see some of your GoPro stuff.

Also I believe it was KJ for the BMW tour that is one hell of a machine. Have all the respect for a fellow rider that hangs back for his riding friend. While the other guys tear it up. I believe once he gets a set of tires on that baby he'll be rocking those turns. Like I said would of been happy to hang back.

Looks like a total of about 1500 miles total. Trip going back was good except for the traffic after Indy from the Derby and the wind.

485 miles back moving avg 71.5 total time 7.22 hrs + traffic and 36 min in stops

Made it home by 1745 last night. Great ride except for that wind! Was stripping clothes off along the way. It was 80 by the time I got home. Great weekend. It was good to see everyone..

Left Marietta at 7:30am and arrived home at 6:30pm. Temps dropped down to 8 degrees C (46F) by the time I got back to Canuckstan - watched Spring disappear in my rear view mirrors.

Hit some rain and had some hail, fortunately while inside grabbing a bite in Kane PA Thanks to everyone who helped to organize this great event and to the patience of my riding buddies / gals. Always great to see old friends and enjoyed making some new ones. Looking forward to seeing some pics and videos - especially of the boating adventures! See you all soon!
