:clapping: :clapping: :clapping: yo, ya'all! It official, my 06 FJR, the love of my life has found a new home in Tacoma. She is going to live with a tower crane operator who is currently working the swing shift on the new Four Season Hotel in Seattle. She was new to me on May of 2006 after a 7 month wait, (i hated that), but at the end i think that she has found someone who will love her as much as I did. You should all know that I have cherished the incredible amount of information that I have gleaned from the forum and from all of you who will forever have a place in my life. TWN, you crack me up...you are one crazy and amazing human being, i'd love to have a couple of cocktails with ya... maybe we will hook up when i make my way to California. Warchild, thanks for all of your wisdom and your great sense of humor, a gem you are. The rest of you have allowed me to really enjoy my FJR. I bought her without riding her first after a 1999 Concours, just knew that this was the bike for me after spending several months hangin' out with you guys. I couldn't have been happier. It is with a lot of sadness that I inform all of you that i have purchased a 2008 Harley Ultra Classic. My beautiful wife, Marti would not ride on the FJR cuz she felt too exposed. I leave this forum actually bummed cuz this bike is without a doubt the best scooter i could have asked for. The power, smoothness, handling and quality is everything i could have asked for. I put 14000 miles on this lady in two summers and I think you should know that every mile, every minute was amazing...

So, see you later my friends, I am going to come and visit occasionally just to remember, "her" ... I really can't believe that I bought a Harley! Now I've gotta gain about 80 pounds, so I will actually weigh 220 and i gotta grow a beard and get an attitude... nevermind, I'm still an individual that just so happens to own a Harley, I'll never be a "poser"...

take care kids,

terry :assassin: :assassin: :assassin: :assassin:

Terry,

Sorry to see ya go... but you just have to yield to management.

Have a great time on your new HD! (with management)

Its more important that you can ride with your SO as pillion. That doesn't mean you can't come here and visit or join in the local rides.....even if you have to ride sweep....FJR owners are still a great bunch to ride with.

mad mike,

It's amazing what kind of a negotiating position you wield when you have 90% of the money and 100% of the *****, you understand, huh?

:yahoo: :yahoo: :yahoo: :yahoo:

I understand how valuable it is that she wants to ride with you. The rest will mean nothing in 20 or 30 years compared to the shared memories you might collect. There are many bikers who like riding alone but there are many who would give anything if their wife-unit/S.O. would share their passion and experiences.

I think you've done very well.

Don't be a stranger, we'll still be here for ya. Doesn't really matter what you ride, Harleys aren't so bad anyway. Hope you enjoy your new ride and you can always come back later if the mood strikes.

The Ultra is a great bike and I'm sure you will both enjoy it. I've owned 3 Harleys (never a Ultra) but have ridden friends many times. Not like the FJR but just cruising along it's great and your wife will like it much better. I almost went that way but bought a Goldwing instead (now gone) just because my wife is 6 feet tall and the wing has more passenger room and I wouldn't have to do anything to it to make it run like I wanted. You will have to do a few things to the Ultra to give it any kind of power and to not have it melt her right leg (they run VERY hot right out of the box. Nice thing about a Harley is that you can do these things to it and they respond very good to upgrades. A simple pipe change, breather change and ECM upgrade really makes thyem run much better.....plus you'll get hooked on the radio!

If that's your wife in your avatar, you're forgiven. Follow Scab's example, you can ride a different bike and still post up here. :yahoo:

um, don't follow scab......bad mojo there. Us crash club members are bad news.

Come back here anytime and we'll you'll get all sorts of informed and uninformed information about HD's ;)

Been a pleasure having you around and no need to be a stranger.

Let's dust off the Foghat: "Slowride"

The wifes next view after she suggests a HD cuz she can't ride on da feej.........

If that's your wife in the avatar, I don't know how to break this to you but...

She is exposed. :dribble:

Nothing a Harley's gonna fix, either.

In fact, if you follow the general HD rider gear trend, she's already got ATG she needs. :D

Seriously though, you two are gonna stick out like sore thumbs at the HOG rallies, wearing helmets and all your safe gear. Better off keepin' on riding with us FJR owners on our "jap crap"...

Enjoy the Hog. Can't say I would ever buy one, but then again, it ain't my money. I had a Wing, sold it for the Feej. Wife is still bummed, but she will get over it or go back to riding her own bike. Life's too short to give in to that kind of complaining! As nice as the wing was, it ain't the FJR. I hate to say this cuz its not about the bike, its about the ride, but you will be looking for a solo bike soon enough. 900 lbs and 65 hp at the rear wheel gets old pretty quick.

:clapping: :clapping: :clapping: thank you all for your well wishes and the **** that I probably deserve for selling my FJR. I am going to miss everything about her and I promise I will stop bye to say howdy to all of you. Thanks for making me feel like family and for never, ever cutting me any slack, I like that>>>Take care everybody, I'll be back!!! :assassin: :assassin: :assassin:
