Joel S., this is a interesting article.

I just had a set of molds made for my wife and I at the IMS show by Ear Dynamics. Dual drivers for $300 each. Sure hope they perform as hoped.

Has anyone purchased these from the group? What are your thoughts. We should have ours in 3 weeks

Alex, I don't have those, but would really have considered them for that price. We went with the Westones and I paid about the same price and love the audio quality and comfort. I think The ear dynamic will prove to be a little more durable.

Headphone jack holds up just fine -- at least during in a torrential downpour lasting over an hour.

A wet charging port, however, can send the thing into schizo territory. (Returns to normalcy when it's dried out.)

So thats using headphones in the rain, or the port covered??

I have a 10U. Haven't had the chance to pair it yet with any other intercom. I use it for music and GPS directions and radar chirps.

Went to Sena to get away from having to put earphones in my ears. I find foam earplugs from 3M, infinitely more comfortable.

My Sena has survived many rainstorms while the headphone cable was plugged into the headphone jack, including a torrential downpour of about an hour while on I-75 NB just north of Tampa. When the headphones are plugged in, the rubber cover for the headphone jack is not in place.

My Sena has gone bonkers several times (maybe four?) in gentle rain when the rubber cover for the charging port (a USB micro-B port) was not tightly snapped into place. The Sena recovers within 24-36 hours, presumably when it has dried out. My charging port cover does not snap in easily.

How can you tell if you're suffering from My Sena Has Gone Bonkers Syndrome? Buttons malfunction, the jog dial becomes ineffective, your FM radio goes silent, and the battery dies very soon after full charge. There may be other symptoms not listed here.

I had a UClear in my last helmet I liker it because there was no boom mic all I want is to be able to answer phone and here gps.

I'm looking forward to what the sena 30k has to offer. No desire to really film anything, so that will most likely by my next jump when it comes out in 2 months.

I bought a set of Sena 10S for our trip across the country, first day I loved 'em, second day they were OK, third day they gave me a headache after 4-5 hours.

Ever since with or without earplugs they are tinny in sound and bug me after a short time. There is a conversion on YouTube to change out the speakers, which I'm going to try.

I even contacted Sena and begged them for some kind of upgrade for the 10S speakers, all they could give me was a "Sorry"

The electrics at least for me work well voice activated aspect works great, as does all the syncing to iPhone or Android

Custom-molded FUZE earplugs work very well for me, and they're cheap inexpensive. Because they're custom-molded, they fit within the "cup" of my ear and don't protrude enough to touch the factory Sena speakers.

But I also had the same ****** sound issue on my 20S until recently. I wanted to listen to podcasts stored my iPad while keeping the phone synced for making/taking calls. Decided to re-read the manual and pair my devices correctly.

There are two flavors of Sena-supported Bluetooth:

1. HFP (Hands-Free Protocol) is low-fidelity and, I swear, monaural

2. A2DP (Advanced Audio Distribution Protocol) is hi-fi stereo and sounds really good.

Make SURE your music source is on the A2DP channel; for me, that meant blowing everything up, and re-setting the Sena to factory defaults. I also made sure the iPhone and iPad had forgotten the Sena. That way, I was confident no pairing parameters were stored in any of the devices.

Not sure how to guarantee the connection is A2DP, but assumed that the A2DP device would be paired first and that was the iPad. Sound quality was superb, and with the earplugs, I could hear comfortably at half-volume. Paired the iPhone second, and it sounds fine, too.

Hope this is helpful ...

And I would go with the 20S, especial if you might want to use earbud speakers. 20S also has a much better helment setup.
I have the 20s and I prefer them over the 10. Of course, I had to do a mod by replacing the headset speakers with a set of high quality J&M's that I had.
