I will be going up from Houston.

I usually leave Wednesday evening and stop up somewhere around Texarkana or maybe a little south of it and then ride on in on Thursday so I have all day Friday to ride the area.

Looking forward to less rain this year...

anybody going through Jackson Wed.

Hope some of you are going to stay in Little Rock Wed night as a group like last year.

Killian will lead us up the Pig Trails to Eureka Thur morning. The Holiday Inn has a full breakfast as part of the deal.

My Yammy Cruiser bud Brian says he can't keep up with all of us, so he's not going. And if it doesn't rain, he's staying home as it'll be too boring. !!!

Paging FJR Mississippi Miles, pls pick up the white courtesy phone.

Oh, and I need a roomate. I'm harmless once you get to know me.

let's ride safe and be careful out there,

Mike in Nawlins'

Yeah but before you get to know Mike hes just like a double naught super ninja! :aikido:

FYI 23 (Pig Trial) has several spots of major road construction, so does 215 between 23 and 103.

Bambi and I are heading out on Wednesday morning on the 12th, will stay in Texarkana and then on to Eureka Springs the next morning. Looks like it might be pretty warm so we'll probably try to leave a little early. If anybody wants to join us we can meet at the Taco Cabana at 336 South and I-45 at, say, 7:30 AM (N.W. corner of the interchange)?

I know some roads between Conroe and Texarkana that are a little better than droning up I-45 as we've done this run a few times.

However, I need an assist here from one of the guys in Texarkana. We're having trouble identifying the motel we stayed in last year. It looks like 1) Hampton Inn 2) Holiday Inn (don't think so) 3) La Quinta? Our Amex bill shows the Hampton but none of the Streetview stuff matchs up. It's at the exact intersection of 59 and I-30 on the N.E. corner of the interchange but the important thing is it has outside facing rooms, i.e., you can park your bike outside of the door to your room. All the other motels at that location have inside facing rooms, no bueno.

Can somebody swing by and check it out?

Also, is the Pizza Hut still there? Looks like it has been replaced by a Denny's from Google Street view.

Edit: OK, Bambi finally ran it down to what we think is the "Baymont" which is an affiliate of Hampton Inns. Any possible confirms on this? TIA

Edit #2 Booked into the Baymont for Wednesday/Sunday night. Downstairs outside room. 870-774-4444

Theres so much construction through that area, I dont ever go that way. Hotels come and go change names, I cant keep up with that either. So I'm sorry I am no help and I'm the only one from Texarkana thats gonna be at the SFO.

But I learned something here, We have a Baymont Hotel, didnt know that.

I do know a few good places to eat, if you get time try 'POPs Place" its on Hwy 67 about 2-3 miles east of Texarkana. Great food, they kinda roll a cajun flavor into everything.

See you in ES!

Arkansas State Hwy & Transportation Dept web site does not currently show any lane closures

due to construction on AR 23 (Pig Trail). Fjrider do you have different info on AR 23? 23 is my

preferred routing to ES coming from the DFW area.

The last trip throgh there was April 24th and there was a couple of different places of construction, they may have it finished by now, who knows! Even if its still there it no big deal, some guys get really nervous about having to ride on a little gravel. If I dont get to leave Texarkana until late Thursday evening I'll take 23 north to ES from Ozark.
