Reno, you gotta get off the Interstate. Side roads are awesome where you are currently at.

Tyler, like the groovy dude stuff!
Seemed fitting, don'cha think? ;)
Tyler, it's OK; but I do think the Do-Dah Grateful Dead Man from "Truckin'" would have been much more appropriate! Living on reds, Vitamin C and cocaine; What a Long Strange Road Trip it's Been!!!

https://diamond-back.com/truckin.html American Beauty, just like our RenoJohn!!!
Here ya go... B)

But, then, I AM biased! :D

Bwaahhaha

Funny stuff.

Got out of renoville around 3am with just two hours sleep.

A few issues with the bike -made long stops in Tonopah and Beatty to sort them out a bit. That's what this ride is for. Gunna be some changes when back to Reno.

Stopped in Vegas then got royal dick'd with damn dam traffic ..1-1/2 hours to get across. So much for my recent run of good luck on the dam.

Then construction on 40 ....yada yada

....But a fun day and overall the bike is good.

Not doing rural roads through az today because I've done most of them and today I want to clock a few miles for the shakedown -plus --I'm kinda tired.

Currently a couple of miles west of Flagstaff doing McDinner. And throwing back on a layer or two.

Not sure how much further today -whatever comes.

Thanks for the fun.

--keep on truckin.

Decided to call it a night near flagstaff. I didn't have the spunk to continue east far enough to set myself up for some really good Colrado stuff ..Next time.

So likely head north tomorrow and visit some mormon compounds around Colorado City ...maybe bring home another wife. we'll just see what happens.

Very happy with the bike, but some things need to get sorted out ..this trip was great to identify the next steps.

posted a few pics on the tracking page (CLICKY)

Here is a pic of the farkle contest I entered today in Goldfield:

Have fun RJ - curious to see what's working and what ain't..

OBTW - is the anti-fungal creme doing it's job?

Wuss. Should taken the old Route 66.
Skooty Honey, don't you have to go to work or something? Thanks for the excellent Ride Report, RenoJohn. I always enjoy your many adventures. Whenever SkooterG becomes "Sin Trabajo" again, I still want to lead "Los Tres Amigos" on our reliable Generation Uno's to Real de Catorce, Mexico. I always like the way you roll en Motocicletas, mi Amigo! Keep on truckin! Battle Born Bike is a Beauty!

Don, for the most part the bike is golden and things are good ... but as to be expected, there are some things that'll be addressed. ---in no particular order

++ Small electrical annoyance -it'll mean re-routing a couple of wires -but then I think i'll then be ready to put permanent conduit on much of the new harness. I've left it exposed for tweaking/access so far -glad I did as it'll allow me to make a few easy changes before sealing it all up.

++Aux Fuel ---> Not flowing efficient enough. It is slow and I (without drama) can only utilize about 2/3 of the aux fuel. I had concerns before I left and they've been founded. With the primary nearly dry (surging) I watched how slow fuel would come from a 1/2 full aux tank. I have the other misc transfer line and tested the pressure --it was good.

~~So, what I'm certain is the problem: because 5/16" line is better than 1/4" line ....Uhh, I went with 3/8" (as that must really be great!) and I had a real struggle routing that awkward and clumsy stuff . I had to dip down near the oem vent line and then up to the tank. I think it is this routing drama, especially the "dip" that is causing my issues. When I get home I'm going to put on 5/16 (maybe even 1/4") and then route in a more direct route. I'm no hydro engineer, but there is something to be said about pressure over volume when moving liquid like we are (me thinks).

++Driving Lights. I'm using FutreVision HID *lowbeam only*. they are awesome and I'm really impressed. They seem to be aligned --but I'm getting a lot of flashes from oncoming cars so they likely need to be aligned better. Maybe they're just so damn bright? But, I do love the ability to turn them on independent of each other -including off. Daylight I typically run just one -if I'm low on juice I turn them both off.

++China Lights: OUCH those are bright -man it is like turning the sun on. I need to fine-tune the aim -point them a bit further down the road.

++Piaas: even the "utra bright" bulb is dim compared to the HID's --> but they're golden for a "instant on" high-beams and I've needed that a few times. Also great in daylight for flicking on/off to alert distracted motorists. I don't see how I can go without instant on/of lights so I know they'll stay. **BUT, I am 2nd guessing the ATP (all terrain) pattern and may change them to a beam pattern ....we'll see.

++Alex brackets and misc tweaks. Well overall I'm happy and this is where I had great concerns. With my spacer and mod's even with two pair of lights the highway vibration is not bad at all. I do worry what will happen over 80mph dirt wash-board and really pothole roads ..... we'll see.

++Cruise control Audiovox ....this was on the bike prior -not my install. It's not holding speed at brisk pace -things slip down a bit and eventually hold in the high 70's. Makes texting this note at triple digits kinda tough. I need to learn how the thing works and perhaps talk to a guru (smitty?). If I can't get it right it's coming off.

++heated grips./heat troller. Heat troller is awesome -right grip is not as warm as left. I'll address that when I get home. Combination of the element (made to not get as warm) and insulation underneath me thinks.

Maybe a few tiny tweaks here/there ..but for the most part the bike is stellar ....once I go through the above list, even better yet.

I tweaked a few things last night, then again this morning. --But lots to do when I get home.

OH, that ointment tastes funny!

Been there done that and it is cool - I did 40 as I had thought I might go further east and then up in to Colorado ..but I lost my spunk and wanted to tinker on the bike -and I was low on sleep.

Likely to hit some funky little pockets to the north as I point my way back to the barn.

Good times on the Battle Born's maiden voyage. We need to put together some rides soon - there is scouting to be done for the Gen1 gathering...
Ya, no doubt ...be sure to do as I'm doing and submit your route ideas to the Gen1 route coordinator. Seems she's already put some good thoughts in place and is coordinating group rides to the gathering.

Love that Hybird Spot Shot!
Changed the default to hybrid for you Dave (clicky)

.....thanks for the fun
