She's been on a tender in a heated garage for the last two months. I fired it up a few weeks ago to let someone hear the Beowulff's and she started fine. She just cranks over with only the slightest hint of a firing. Seems flooded, strong smell of fuel. The only thing I've done is change the oil and front tire. Maybe I've got the tire on wrong. Am I missing something small?

Yes, you need to replace the rear tire and then it will run like an old GEN I.

Fred, I just called SkooterG on the telephone because I remembered that a few years ago he had the same problem on his 2004; GreggieM had two suggestions.

1) Crank it over with a wide open throttle, just let the starter run not closing the throttle down.

2) Wait 12 hours and come back and try it again, SkootyG said that has also worked for others.

Skoot-Greg also said the same thing had happened to Ignacio's Gen1, Matt called it "fast starter" syndrome; you may want to send a PM to Iggy too.

The last time you started it for the Beowulff demonstration- did you have it running for very long?

Try starting by holding throttle full wide open while cranking to clear the flooded condition.

Better yet...read the thread I started on the issue here .......first.

In fact, moving misplaced thread to the Technical/Mechanical Problems section where it belongs.

Many Thanks Iggy! Fred is from Wenatchee, juniorfjr needs all of the help that he can get! jes' sayin' and nuff' said!

Change the battery already for christ's sake...............

gawd......why am I the only one that sees this *****..........

If you don't want to hammer the starter motor I would suggest lifting the tank, pulling the plugs and then give it a few spins (light load for the starter motor). That should clear out any residual fuel. Pop the plugs back in and off you go (hopefully).

Just push it up to the top of a really really high hill and ride it down in gear with the key on. I do it all the time.

Pretty weak, guys, pretty weak. Good thing there ain't no "minus" buttons anymores......

Fred -- I'm thinking you killed it with too much fuel...no way to repair until spring.

I'll help you out and go to Cabo for you, K?

You're welcome, no thanks necessary!.
